"No... No that can't be true! He wouldn't that easily! The Sanemi I know is strong! H-He wouldn't!"

Narrator:

"I can't believe you!" Sanemi yelled, his fists clenched tightly into balls. "Do you not care about me, Giyuu?!" He raised his voice even louder. "Of course I do! You're just acting distant!" Giyuu shot back, trying to defend himself. "You always stand there like a fvcking robot and you never try to talk to me!"
"That's because I'm fvcking protecting you! Do you know how much of a target you are to everyone?! You're lucky I'm your boyfriend so I can protect your weak @ss!" Sanemi yelled without thinking. "Weak?! I'm the weak one?! You're the one acting all cool and tough but in reality, you're just a worthless animal that scares everyone around! Your scars make you even uglier!" Giyuu screamed, not thinking about the consequences.

Sanemi's eyes widened in shock. "Is that..." His voice trembled. "Is that really what you think of me?" Giyuu realised what he had said. "Wait n-" Sanemi spoke again, cutting him off. "It's fine, I understand why you feel that way." His voice stopped trembling, giving the effect that he wasn't hurt by Giyuu's words, but, Giyuu could see right though him. "I'm sorry." Sanemi said before leaving the house, slamming the door shut behind him. "Sanemi wait!-" Giyuu called, trying to apologise. His lip trembled when he had walked out. They had many arguments before but they were never this heated. He had never meant to hurt him. He wasn't thinking.

Sanemi didn't come home that night, or the next. Giyuu was starting to get worried. Sanemi always fled the house after an argument but never for this long. He tried calling his number multiple times. Sending him messages and voicemails but he never answered. He started to get worried and eventually reported it to the police.

He kept asking the police if they had found anything yet. No updates. That was until his best friend, Shinobu came over. (Yay nice butterfly this time).

"Giyuu, honey..." (platonic) Shinobu patted the crying man's back. "He'll be back, it's Sanemi we're talking about." She trying to comfort him. "H-He's never been gone this long before... It's been almost two weeks..." The ebony haired man sobbed. Shinobu bit her lip, suddenly her phone buzzed. She picked it up, seeing it was a text message to the group chat 'Hashiras'. Her eyes narrowed as she scrolled through the new messages until she came across a link to a news article from Uzui. She opened the link and her eyes widened. "Fvck." She cursed under her breath. She made sure Giyuu couldn't see his phone or hear the new messages before she sent her own.

Shinobu could tell they were trying to mask their devastation under all the positivity but she tried to play along. "Giyuu honey, the others are coming over alright?" Giyuu nodded, sniffling as he rubbed his eyes.

The others soon arrived, some offering comfort to the devastated man and others discussing how they would tell him. They decided to show him the news article.

Man Found Dead In Alleyway

Last week police found a man unconscious in an alleyway beside the ****** bar. They have identified the man to be Sanemi Shinazugawa. They've come to the conclusion that the man had been poisoned and then shot in the chest. Police still have not found the culprit. If you have any more information please contact *********.

Giyuu's eyes widened in shock. "No... No that can't be true! He wouldn't that easily! The Sanemi I know is strong! H-He wouldn't! W-Why didn't the police tell me..?" Giyuu started crying even harder. Hearing this Shinobu became angry. "The police didn't say anything about this to you?!" She stood up, taking Tengen and and Iguro with her to the police station.

She slammed her hand on the front desk. "I want to speak to the officer handling Sanemi Shinazugawa's case." (Idk how police stations work). "He's busy at the moment, you'll have to wait." The woman at the desk replied with a monotone voice, working on whatever paperwork she had on the desk. "I want to speak to them now! They've found him but didn't even tell the person who reported him missing!" She yelled, starting to get angry. "I told you that you'd have to wait." The officer said calmly. The two went at it for a while until another officer walked out of a room.

"What seems to be the problem here?" The man asked, clearly annoyed. "The problem is that you didn't tell my friend what happened to Sanemi Shinazugawa!" Shinobu yelled, the man's expression became one of realisation. "Are you three friends of Giyuu Tomioka?" The policeman asked, lowering his voice. She nodded. The officer motioned for them to follow him into a room.

"We haven't told him yet because we thought it would be too much on him." The three friends faces contorted in confusion. "The fvck you mean?!" Obanai scoffed, slightly muffled thanks to the mask. The man sighed before speaking again. "Sanemi Shinazugawa planned this. He's not actually dead, he said he needed to get away or something like that." The man explained. The trio's eyes widened. "So he's still alive?!" Tengen said, maybe a little too loudly. "Do you know where he is?" Shinobu asked, more calmly than before now. The man nodded in response. "He told us not to tell anybody though." That set her off. "Giyuu has been upset about this the whole time he's been gone and he deserves to know where his own fvcking boyfriend is!" She shouted, her face twisted in rage. The two friends accompanying her were shocked, they had never seen her THIS angry before. The officer, intimidated by the short woman gave in. "Alright, bring Giyuu over here and I'll tell him."

They called Rengoku to drive Giyuu to the station. When they arrived Giyuu's eyed were rimmed with red, the result of all the sobbing he had done in the past weeks. The officer told Giyuu the news and he started to break again. "He left..?" The officer then told him where he was.

"America..? But that's on the other side of the world..!"
