"Looks like I came just in time."

The second that I heard Buggy's voice, it was as if all my energy returned to my body. I leapt up, wrapping my arms and legs tightly around his body. It felt like if I didn't hold on to him as tightly as I could, he might vanish into thin air.

His smell was intoxicating. He smelled of sweat and dirt, yet to me, in that moment, the smell was like a drug. I immediately began to sob against him. All the anger, sadness, fear, that I had been feeling over the last couple of days just poured out of me in the form of tears.

"Are you really here?" I asked, my voice still hoarsed and pained. "Or am I imagining you?"

He laughed, hugging me just as tightly as I was hugging him. "I told you that I was coming to rescue you."

He did, but I hadn't thought he would be this fast. I pulled back from the hug, and felt Buggy wipe the blood from my face and eyes. When I could see again, I looked for Bozo.

His body lay on the ground - headless and lifeless - oozing blood. A year ago, that sight would have made me pass out or throw up, but in that moment I felt nothing except relief.

Now, what had just happened became clear to me. Buggy, using a sword, had completely cut off Bozo's head. A part of me wished I would have seen it clearer. The blood in my eyes and the shock meant that I hadn't seen anything except red.

"You're smiling," Buggy commented, gently stroking my cheek with his gloved hand. "I never thought you'd be happy for me to be homicidal."

I kissed him suddenly. It wasn't a long kiss, just a quick peck on the lips. I needed to taste him. When I pulled back, I even licked my lips. They tasted like him.

"He deserved it." Those words felt foreign coming out of my mouth.

"They all deserve to die, and they will."

I thought for a moment, considering. "I think we should let Dilly live."

His face twisted a little bit when I had said that. "Really? After what she did?"

I knew that Buggy saw me as soft - which he wasn't wrong about. However, it just didn't seem fair to kill Dilly.

"She defended me; multiple times. I feel like I owe her that much."

"You really are soft," a female voice said from behind us.

I almost jumped out of my skin at the surprise of another voice. I turned, seeing Dilly standing there, watching us.

"Dilly?"

"I came to try and convince Bozo not to kill you, but it seems like your boyfriend got here first."

I felt Buggy tense up. I looked up at his face, which was full of rage. I worried that he wasn't going to let her live for another minute, never mind letting her life altogether. His anger might be too strong for that. If I was honest, I wouldn't blame him. Dilly had really fucked us over.

Buggy progressed towards Dilly, I moved with him. I couldn't stand without him and he seemed to realise that, making sure to support me as we moved. Dilly watched us with a strange look across her face.

Once we were closer to her, Buggy said, "If I were you, I'd run."

"I don't run. If you want to kill me then kill me."

I sucked in a breath. Buggy looked down at me. His entire expression softened, his eyes almost seemed to change colour.

"It's your choice," I told him, softly. He seemed surprised by that. "I want her to live, but I can't stop you from doing what you want to do."
