When I got back to Buggy's bedroom, he was already there, sitting on the bed, doing his make-up. It never stopped making me laugh seeing him put on make-up before bed.
He stopped in his tracks when he saw me. "Hello, beautiful."
I had to suppress a smile at that. In truth, him calling me that made my head spin and made me feel like I might literally float off the ground from happiness.
"Hello," I returned. I sunk down on the bed, opposite him. There was a decent amount of distance between us. I did that on purpose. "You know, you don't have to wear make-up around me."
"You don't want to see me without it, believe me. You'd lose any attraction you have to me."
That made me sad. "I'd be attracted to you even if..." I stopped.
"Even if?" He asked, sounding genuinely curious.
I had to think about it for a moment. "Even if... anything. There's nothing in this world that could stop me being attracted to you."
That was true, I'd realised. Even if he was the most evil, cruel pirate I'd still be attracted to him. That was part of the problem I was facing.
He grinned like he was drunk. "You're too cute, Bets."
He then crawled forward on the bed, until his lips were on mine. His lips were soft and plump, like always. They tasted sweet. I could also taste the mouth paint that he had used, but that didn't bother me.
Everything in me screamed to stop him, that I shouldn't do that, but I couldn't stop myself.
This time, it was him who parted his lips and allowed my tongue into his mouth. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders, pulling him closer to me.
He followed my lead, pushing me until my back was against the bed and he was hovering over me. His hands were in my hair, so I tangled mine into his. I felt it come undone from its ponytail.
"Your hair's so long," I mumbled against his lips.
"Is that a good thing?"
"It's a great thing." I meant that. I loved his long flowing hair.
We stopped kissing then, both desperately huffing for breath. I looked into his beautiful eyes, so green and vibrant. And so soft.
"You've probably messed up my make-up."
"I have," I told him, laughing. Trying to use my fingers to clean up the mess I'd made.
"You can mess up my make-up anytime."
I smiled like an idiot at that. Then, I felt that same guilt bubble up inside of me. I shouldn't be doing this with him. It was wrong of me.
Buggy seemed to notice the change on my face. "What?" He asked softly.
I felt bad but I was honest. "This is wrong."
He sighed heavily and got off of me, sitting back against the headboard. I sat up, too.
"You confuse me, Betty."
