"Do you mind scotching over a little?"
I look down to see Mariposa or I guess Samara now, trying to pull the throw blanket from the back of the couch.
Key word trying. I am sitting on half of the blanket while leaning on the other half. And the blanket hasn't moved an inch since she started pulling on it.
"Of course, darling." I say leaning forward a little, pulling the blanket with me.
I turn to face her and draping the blanket on her and tuck it from the side, patting her stomach for good measures. "There, all warm and cozy."
I lean back again in my seat, this time with my back to the side a little so she has more room to relax. This way I am facing her more than I am facing straight.
Her eyes are firmly on the TV as she munches slowly on the popcorn one of the twins gave her.
Everyone is looking at the TV, but I know none of my brothers are watching. They most likely still thinking about the conversation we had not even ten minutes ago.
Thanking her is not enough, never will be. But right now all I can do is show her verbal gratitude.
I lean down and whisper in her ear, "a 'thank you' is definitely not enough for all you did for us. But for now, thank you. Thank you for saving our family."
She keeps looking at the TV when she whispers back, "you are welcome. And stop thinking about paying me back, I didn't help you to be in your good graces. I did it because I wanted to."
I go to share another piece of my mind with her but I am interrupted by the dinging sounds from multiple phones, mine included.
I look up to see my brothers frown down on their phones. I grab my phone from my pocket and look at the notification.
Its the cctv system indicating that motion was detected near the front gate.
"What's wrong?" Samara asks, turning to look at my screen.
Before anyone can answer our phones ping again, this time the motion is detected at our front door.
"What the fuck man? Who the fuck are those?" Sneers Cale at what I assume is the camera feed.
I go to pull the feed on my phone when Ian speaks, "aren't these the boys that delivered our shipment the other day? But there is four of them."
"Oh, fuck." Samara yelps looking at Ian's phone then jumping to her feet.
"Where the fuck is my phone???" She says in panic patting her pockets. She stops abruptly when she touches the pocket she stuffed the device she showed us in.
Groaning, she pulls out the device cursing quietly at it.
Just then the door bell rings, and a second later Samara is hurrying to open it.
"What the fuck?" I say standing to follow after her, my brothers on my tail.
We reach her just as she undo the last lock, yanking the door open.
"What's wrong? Are you okay? Are you hurt?" She rushes to say reaching for the closest guy to her.
Nobody answers her as one of them pulls her in towards them and they all wrap around her, hugging her tight.
