"Hey! What are you doing here?" He asked surprised as he stood next to me.

"I...was here for the weekend with my friends. Girls weekend." I explained watching him nod indacting his understanding.

"Well, I wish I had know you were here and we could've grabbed a bite in my restaurant. But unfortunately I just returned from a business trip in Italy."

I tried hard not make my mouth fall open, but that was impressive. Having business trips all around the world, while I had never even gone far enough out of the country. I smiled a small smile at his invitation of a conversation over a meal as I thought to myself, that would've been nice.

"I would've accepted." I replied with a smile making him smile back in return. He was so calm and charismatic, displaying so much confidence in the way that he held himself.

"Well, how about this time you give me your number and I'll call you ? Seeing as you haven't taken me up on my offer yet."

I smiled as I tried to hide my embarrassment thinking how he must've thought I was not interested when I didn't call him. When in reality, it was very much the opposite.

"Here, put it in my phone. That way I won't lose it. I should've done the same as I reflect back that a napkin probably wasn't the most reliable source of holding information." He added handing me his phone as the elevator dinged signalling our arrival.

"I hope to you see soon." He replied as I stepped out of the elevator displaying the most sheepish smile and rosy cheeks as I tried my best to hide it.

"Well don't you look like the cat that got his milk." Maya noted as I watched Katie lift her eyebrow in question.

"I saw him. In the elevator. "

I watched as the two of them shared a look before getting into our uber. I could feel their hearts bursting with excitement as they waited for me expand on what I had said.

I watched as their eyes lit up, every now and again sharing a look between eachother as I told the story of what had happend. As I finished, they both displayed the brightest smiles as if I had told them I won the lottery.

"Okay, I'm just going to say that so far, the hot hotel owner is my favourite contender." Maya said as she folded her arms across her chest.

"Oh, what? Come on, don't count Ben's hot uncle out just yet. I think he's got just as good of a chance seeing as she's spent more time with him so far." Katie interjected making her point.

"Uhm, hello ? I'm still here." I reminded them as they didn't care to notice.

"Oh yeah? And do you see her making any moves on him yet ? No. If she really liked him after having so many conversations with him, we wouldn't have had to come all this way to see if the hot hotel owner stood a chance. "

I watched as Maya felt quite content on her point. As Katie only rolled her eyes as response. One would think that it was their lives by how invested they both were.

But then again, it was nice having friends that cared that much about you.

For the days that followed, I felt myself glued to my phone, waiting for him to call me, for me to take him up on his offer. I felt much like a lovesick teenage girl waiting to be asked to prom.

Which ironically, I had never been either.

"He's heeeereeee." Katie sung in my ear as I rolled my eyes knowing full well who she was referring to.

"And I have a job to do." I answered holding back a smile.

"Well, what if I told you he had asked me for your number. What would you say to that?"

"I would say that it wouldn't be your place to give out my number, and that if he had the tenacity to keep coming here for the sole purpose of talking to me, he should have the guts to ask for my number himself."

It was true though. We both knew that Ben was on the mend and on his way to being discharged, so he had really no business being by his side as much as he is. Granted, he does seem like a very caring uncle, but it wasn't very convincing since he spent more time by his side than his own parents.

"Well, it's too late now. He's got your number and he's going to call you." Katie said in triumph as I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her meddling.

Great. Now I had two guys both with my numbers, both very attractive, either a good choice for a date, but me not knowing who to choose.

I guess it's in their hands now. Whoever calls first, will have my date.

May the best man win.
