Scarlet couldn't handle seeing Nikki after what happened at the wedding. She was so angry at him. She couldn't handle what he said to her. He threatened to out her, and that was something she couldn't forgive easily. He didn't deserve her forgiveness, even if he begged for it, but he didn't.
He didn't bother trying to get her to forgive him. He didn't bother calling and apologizing. He didn't bother coming by to see her to see if she was hurt, or if the two could talk things out. He was too busy getting high to care about anyone but himself. He was too far gone, and Scarlet couldn't help him at this point.
Some time had passed since the wedding, but Scarlet didn't really get into contact with anyone from the band. She wanted to distance herself for a bit. She was scared that staying around them would get her hooked again, and she couldn't chance that. Knowing she was wanting to stay clean, she would sometimes call Sharise and talk to her about life — but mostly Skylar.
After a bit of time passed, Scarlet decided that she could visit Vince without feeling like an ass. She didn't want him to think she was there for the band. Honestly, at this point she'd never go to Vince to get him back in the band for Nikki, even if he begged her to do so. With how Nikki was, Vince was better off without them.
"What are you doing here?" Vince asked, but he let her in before she answered.
"I didn't want to bother you, but it's been some time since I last seen you." She commented, and he simply nodded.
"You're not here about the band, are you?" He questioned, but she quickly shook her head.
"I haven't talked to them since Tommy's wedding." She replied, making him frown.
"Why? What happened?"
"Nikki showed up high out of his fuckin' mind, V," She sighed,"He ruined Tommy's wedding, and I told him off, y'know? But then he threatened me, told me to stay outta his business." She explained, causing Vince to shake his head.
"Nikki's fucked in the head right now, Scar," He replied,"I hate to say it, but I don't think he'll get better, not unless he dies. He doesn't want help. He's willing to drag everyone down with him, just for his next high. I think you distancing yourself is the best thing you can do."
"He was so fuckin' harsh," She grumbled,"He left a bruise on my arm, but it's gone now."
"What'd he do?!" Vince exclaimed, ready to find his ex-bandmate just to kick his ass.
"He grabbed me, and his grip was a little too tight. He wasn't in his right mind. I don't think he knew how tight he was holding my arm." She replied, and Vince scoffed.
"That doesn't make it okay," He retorted,"but I guess I'll leave it be."
"So, uh, have you written any new songs?" She asked, knowing he had been hinting at new music before he even left the Crüe.
"Yeah, I'm working on some stuff. I'm not too sure it'll get anywhere, but I've got a couple songs. If I get enough, I might release a solo album." He replied, making her smile.
"That's something you should do," She commented,"Don't let your talent go to waste."
"Can I ask you something?" She nodded,"Before the fight at the wedding, were you and Nikki together?" He asked, causing her to shake her head.
"No, I couldn't put myself in that kind of situation. He was on heroin for so long, and I couldn't deal with that. He got me hooked on coke, him and Tommy, and I couldn't chance it happening with heroin. After everything I had been through in my life, I couldn't get hooked on that shit," She replied,"I mean, I guess I can tell you, since you're like my brother...I have — had feelings for Nikki. I did since before you guys even signed for the record label, but I just never said anything. I didn't want to chance him hurting me. He was all over the groupies, and I just couldn't do it. It hurt to see him with other girls, but I knew we couldn't work."
"I knew you were in the bathroom with him the night Razzle died," Vince commented, looking away,"I knew what you guys were doing, both the blow and sex. I just — I never mentioned it, because I didn't want to say anything in front of Razzle, and after that...I didn't think you and I would ever really be the same again. I mean, I hurt the girl I seen as my sister. I couldn't forgive myself."
"Well, I forgive you, so it doesn't matter. What happened is in the past, and we both know it was a complete accident," She said,"and thank you for not saying anything in front of Razzle. He would've had a field day with the gossip."
"I didn't tell Sharise either," He admitted,"I didn't want to mess up your relationship with her. I didn't want her trying to take Skylar from you. Skylar had to have her Auntie Scar."
"You're the best brother I could ask for, V," She murmured,"I just wish you weren't a blonde, that way we could actually look like we were related."
"Fuck off," He shoved her away jokingly,"Seriously though, Scar, one day if Nikki sees how fucked up he's been, I think you'll get the happiness you were looking for with him. I think he just needs some time to see that he's fucked beforehand." He said, and she smiled.
"Thank you, V." She replied, causing him to smile as well.
She was glad she had Vince. He was her brother, even if it wasn't by blood. He was the brother she needed, considering she felt like she'd never see hers again. He kept her stable and level-headed, even when he wasn't feeling that way himself...
