After what happened to Scarlet, Vince had been keeping an eye on her from afar. He truly cared for her like she was his sister, and he wanted to protect her from the world. He never told the boys about what happened, but he and the boys had destroyed the man's car, and spray painted the inside of the building when he was out for lunch. They also broke out all the windows late one night after the place had closed.
Vince had told Scarlet to take some time off working, so she could heal and have more time to herself. She agreed, even though working kept her mind busy, and not thinking about what happened to her, or about getting back to her brothers. Honestly, she just wondered if working was better than being trapped in her own mind for hours on end.
Anyhow, the day after she was hurt, the guys told her about them being signed to a record label. She was so proud of them, and she rewarded them with homemade pie, even though Vince told her to take it easy. It took almost a week for her to stop limping, but only Vince seemed to notice she wasn't okay, or at least, that's what she thought. Nikki could tell something was wrong with her, and after destroying her old boss's shit, he was almost sure that he had hurt Scarlet. One day he'd beat the shit out of that guy if he had the chance.
About a week after the guys were signed to a record label, Tommy and Nikki were kicked out of their apartment. Their landlord told them that they had to live, and absolutely nothing was going to change his mind. So, the two spent a few hours packing the shit they wanted to keep, before shoving it all into Nikki's crappy car. Once it was packed into the car, the two headed for Scarlet's house. They knew she would let them live with her, at least for a little while.
"What are you guys doing here?" She asked, when she opened the door and seen them.
"We got kicked out." Nikki said, and Scarlet's eyebrows raised in surprise.
"You mind if we stay with you?" Tommy asked, giving her a boyish grin.
"Fine, but you're going to be cleaning up after yourself. I do not let moochers live with me if they can't clean." She retorted, giving them a glare.
"Fine." The two replied in unison, causing Scarlet's lips to twitch with amusement.
"Get your shit and pick a room." She said, shaking her head with a chuckle.
Scarlet watched as they turned around and went to Nikki's car. She watched as they grabbed four garbage bags each, and carried them to the house. She moved out of their way and let them enter the house.
"Is all that stuff clean?" She asked, causing Nikki to turn to her.
"What do you think?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Go put all the clothes and shit in the laundry room, and wipe down everything else with the lysol wipes on the kitchen table." She said, and the two nodded.
Nikki and Tommy both left two garbage bags each in the laundry room, and they brought two others to the kitchen to wipe the stuff down. She didn't want any bugs or anything in her house from their apartment. She hoped like hell they didn't track anything over.
She could tell who's clothes was who's when she was opening the bags. All of the clothes smelled of booze, weed, and BO, and she was not too happy. She filled the washer, and had to do so three more times before all of their clothes were clean. By the time she had started the first load of clothes, she seen that they had gotten a couple things wiped down.
"We brought all our shit." Tommy commented, showing her the two baggies they had stuffed in with their other things.
"I got all mine hid in the hallway closet in a purple lockbox," She replied,"Here's the key. You can put your guys' stuff in there, too." She added, as she handed him a small key.
"Thank you for letting us stay here." Nikki commented, once Tommy had walked off to put up their stuff.
"It's not a problem," She answered,"I'd rather you guys be here instead of homeless."
Scarlet brought Nikki and Tommy to the bedrooms so they could argue over who got which room. Once they had their rooms picked, they were able to put their things away. Scarlet was then able to bring them their laundry without getting it mixed up. They were horrible at folding their clothes and hanging them up correctly, so she did it for them. She almost felt like she was being a mother to teenagers, though she wasn't old enough to have teenagers.
"You two want pizza for dinner?" She asked,"I'll call the place." She added, and they agreed.
Scarlet called the pizza place and ordered pizzas, along with a two liter of soda for them to share. She knew they'd rather have beer, but she couldn't exactly order beer from a pizza place. She could call Vince and hope he'd answer and bring some beer over in exchange for pizza, but she didn't want to bother him. She had all ready bothered him enough, when she would call after a horrible nightmare about what had happened to her by her old boss.
"Pizza's here!" Tommy exclaimed, and Scarlet went to her purse, grabbed some money, and handed it to Tommy.
She wasn't always comfortable opening the door for people anymore. She would always check the peephole before answering her door, which wasn't always something she did before. She knew how to kick ass, so she didn't need to be cautious, but now her brain was telling her that she needed to be careful. She was still just a little scared, but she knew eventually she'd get over it, she had to...
