Chapter 9

****Rowan's P.O.V.****

I am so BORED! Ever since Sabrina and Bradley have been dating, she hasn't been spending a lot of time with me. So, to make up for my loneliness, I decided to text Jake.

Me💁🏻- Hey Jake

Jakey❤️🔥- Hey RowBoat.

Me💁🏻- So, what are you doing?

Jakey❤️🔥- Just being bored, what about you?

Me💁🏻- Same.

Jakey❤️🔥- Can I come over to your house? I need to talk to you about something.

Me💁🏻- Sure, come on over! You are always welcome at Casa De Blanchard!

Jakey❤️🔥- Haha😂 Thanks Row, see you soon beautiful.😘

Me💁🏻- Okay, see you soon, Jakey😊

After that, he didn't respond so I ran upstairs to my room to get changed. I was planning on having a lazy day today, meaning I hadn't brushed my hair or teeth, and I was wearing sweats and an oversized t-shirt. And, worst of all, I had NO makeup.

I quickly ran a brush through my hair while applying concealer and eyeshadow. Next, I added eyeliner to both eyes and a tiny bit of mascara. I quickly added blush before changing into a pair of white shorts and electric blue flowy crop top. I mentally 'okayed' my outfit before running downstairs just as the doorbell rang.

I opened the door to see a very cute Jake standing there, biting his lip.

"Hey, Jake," I said, trying to snap him out of his trance.

"Jake?" I repeated, him not responding. Then, I got an idea.

I leaned forward and placed my lips on his. After a second, he kissed back, placing his hand on my cheek. I pulled back and pecked his lips once before opening the door, allowing him inside.

"What was that for?" He asked, stepping into the house.

"You were spaced out, so I knew that was a good way to get your attention," I replied, shutting the door behind me.

"Well, it definitely did," he said, placing his arm around my waist and pulling me close before placing his lips on mine. I kissed him back, smiling. I quickly pulled away though, remembering my dad was here.

"My dad is just upstairs, and I don't want to get in trouble," I told him so he wouldn't think I didn't want to kiss him.

"It's fine. I just needed to ask you something."

"Shoot," I replied.

"Will you go on a date with me?" He asked. I was shocked. This was our first date, besides the dance of course.

"Of course I will, you goofball."

He sighed in relief and quickly pecked me on the lips before saying,

"I have to go, but I will see you tonight. Wear something nice but not too fancy, and I will be here to pick you up at 6. Bye, Row!" He said with a huge grin stuck on his face before leaving through the door.

This is going to be a fun night.

*time lapse*

It's 4:00 now, and I'm at my house. Brini is curling my hair and doing my makeup. She helped me pick out my outfit earlier, but I didn't want to get makeup on it so I am waiting to put it on.

Sabrina said she was done curling my hair, and she brushed it out so the curls were bigger and more bouncy.

She grabbed her makeup bag and quickly got to work. She grabbed her liquid foundation that she keeps for me and dabbed it on my cheekbones, my forehead, my nose, my chin, and above my upper lip. She rubbed it all in before washing her hands off. Now, she added some tan powder that matched the liquid foundation and quickly brushed it everywhere. Next, she added blush to my cheekbones.

She grabbed her pink eyeshadow and applied it lightly to my eyelids before adding black winged eyeliner and mascara. Then, she took her light pink lip liner and outlined my lips before applying lipstick the same color all over my lips. Then, she quickly dabbed some tinted, sparkly lipgloss the same color before washing her hands and running out the door to grab my clothes. She gave them to me and then ran back out, probably to find accessories.

I slipped the skirt on and pulled the shirt over my head, making sure not to ruin my makeup or hair. I straightened my shirt out and pulled my skirt just over the hem of my shirt so it would look like a dress. I headed out to my room to find Sabrina snapping a super cute hot pink phone case. When she saw me she quickly handed me some gorgeous diamond earrings, a bunch of sparkly silver bracelets, and a hot pink necklace.

Since I couldn't reach the back of my neck, I had Sabrina clip on the necklace while I was putting the earrings in. I slipped the bracelets on just as Sabrina handed me a pair of black heels, a white purse and my phone. I put my phone in my purse just as I heard the doorbell ring. I ran down the stairs as fast as I could in my heels and quickly readjusted my outfit before opening the door.

I opened the door to find an amazing looking Jake wearing a super nice plaid shirt and a pair of nice black jeans.

"You look stunning, Row," Jake said, quickly scanning his eyes over my body before looking in my eyes. He gave me a quick peck on the cheek before we headed out.

"So.." I started as he opened the car door for me. "Where are you taking me?" I asked, realizing that he never told me. He closed the door and then answered with a grin,

"It's a surprise."

"But please?" I asked with my puppy dog eyes after he got in on his side and shut the door.

"Well, if I told you, then it wouldn't be a surprise, now would it? He asked while chuckling and starting the car.

"Fine," I huffed, watching the cars pass by as we pulled into the busy road.

*skip car ride*

"Are you sure that we are at the right place?" I asked, looking around the hilly landscape.

"Yeah, we just have to walk for a bit. But, I have something that will make it more fun." He said, leaning over me and grabbing a bandana. He tied the bandana over my eyes and I couldn't see anything. He gave me a quick kiss on the lips before he got out of the car.

A couple seconds later, I heard him open my door. He unbuckled my seatbelt and helped me get out of the car. We started walking somewhere and he kept me entertained by talking to me while leading me down what I think is a path.

We continued walking and talking for a while until he suddenly stopped, making me jerk on his arm and fall backwards. I scrunched my eyes and waited for the impact, but it never came. I felt someone's arms wrapped around my waist and then someone's breath fanning against my face.

"Sorry about that," I heard Jake chuckle. He pulled me back up to my feet and then took my blindfold off. At first, the light was super bright, but after I blinked my eyes a few times, I couldn't believe what I saw.

Right before me was a beautiful picnic laid out with a picnic blanket and a hammock between two trees. This was going to be so fun.
