AFTER HOURS OF DILIGENTLY ABSORBING THE LESSON, the classroom gradually emptied out as students dispersed for their lunch break. Only a handful remained, among them [Name] and Emi, settling in with their lunchboxes.
Before [Name] or Emi could open their lunchboxes, a tap on [Name]'s shoulder jolted her attention. She turned, and Emi followed suit, their curiosity piqued.
"Oh! Hey Suna," [Name] greeted with a warm smile.
"Hey [last name], what's up?" Suna returned the smile, his presence bringing a pleasant energy to the room.
"Oh you know, just.. yeah." [Name] nodded, hoping Suna didn't process she had just said a bunch of nothing. Although he noticed, Suna simply nodded. Seemingly unfazed by her lack of elaboration.
"So... you're really not coming?" Suna asked, prompting Emi to discreetly eavesdrop while feigning disinterest.
"I'm not going today," [Name] responded as she opened her lunch to eat.
"Damn, why?" Suna inquired, his curiosity evident as he observed her.
"I'm doing things with Emi after school," [Name] explained, glancing briefly at Emi, who maintained her composure and continued unpacking her lunch.
"Oh, okay," Suna acknowledged, accepting her response before heading off to the cafeteria.
"So [Name].. Since when have did we have plans?" Emi questioned, finally breaking the silence as she started to arrange her meal.
"Since right now," [Name] responded with a slightly awkward smile, turning to face Emi.
"Right... Our plans are to watch their practice after school," Emi clarified, focusing on her food once more.
"Emi.."
"What? We can be somewhere they won't see us. You said there were other girls. I'll ask them for the best spot to be," Emi suggested casually, unperturbed by the sudden change in plans.
