The next day, Lucifer and Carmilla woke up from their sleep to do what they always do every morning. Lucifer prepared to take a bath, freeing his wings to relax a bit, all the while not stopping to look at his ring, leaving it on the sink, believing that it wouldn't be possible to leave the past behind and stop feeling useless all the time. Meanwhile, Carmilla headed to her bathtub to lie down, feeling the water all over her body. Slowly, she ran the soap over her legs while planning her itinerary for the day in her mind.

While one prepared breakfast for his daughter, the other did the same for hers. Despite everything, both were parents who had a profound love for their daughters that they couldn't set aside.

Lucifer had already set up the table for the others when they arrived. In his mind, he was thinking about what he could do during the day, because the only thing that came to his mind was finishing the preparations for the hotel's reopening.

Charlie: Good morning, Dad.

Lucifer: Charlie, sweetheart, good morning. Breakfast is ready, just sit down and eat as much as you want.

Charlie: Thanks. Did you make all this for us?

Lucifer: Well, at first, it was just for you and Vaggie, but then I thought it would look rude, so I made it for everyone.

Charlie: That's nice.

At that moment, his daughter noticed his hand.

Charlie: Dad, you're not wearing your ring.

Lucifer: That's right.

Charlie: Why?

Lucifer: I just wanted to try not wearing it for a day to see what happened. But if I'm honest with you, I feel naked.

Charlie: Are you okay?

Lucifer: I think so, or I hope so. Last night, I tried to take it off, but I saw a photo of your mother that made me feel guilty, and in the end, I put it back on. It's going to take me a long time to do this.

He continued looking at his hand until Charlie took it.

Charlie: It's okay, Dad, it's never easy, especially when you've already taken the first step.

Lucifer: Sometimes I think if I had been stricter with myself, none of this would have happened. Maybe your mother would still be here.

Charlie: But that's just a 'what if,' something that can't happen anymore. It's better to think about what comes next.

Lucifer: True.

Charlie: For example, what do you plan to do on your date with Mrs. Carmine?

Lucifer: Well, I just planned to take her to an elegant restaurant and have a chat with her.

Charlie: The restaurant idea sounds good. And then?

Lucifer: Just that.

Charlie: Just that?

Lucifer: Yes.

Charlie: Seriously?

Lucifer: Yes.

Charlie: Is this a joke?

Lucifer: No.

Charlie: Really?

Lucifer: Yes.

Charlie: It can't be. You have creativity to create your rubber ducks but not to plan a good date?

Lucifer: Since I married your mother, we barely went out to a few places, then we stopped altogether.

Charlie: Well, why don't you take her somewhere else? I don't know, maybe a park or something.
