People seemed so focused in the game, silent as soon as the hitter came up to get ready to swing.
And that hitter was the one and only Ryujin, one of Karina's closest friends.
Even though she came to most of Ryujin's games she couldn't help but still feel confused by it. Why were mostly the games outside and where the hell were the indoor games?! Karina felt a wisp of a breeze just from a mile away, she was sure that it was supposed to be -10 degrees.
Giselle and wonyoung seemed unfazed by the cold, they both looked like wild tigers trying to hunt down prey. Karina just softly chuckled at the sight.
Karina slowly turned next to her, Winter holding her arms together, rubbing them repeatedly as she tried to watch the game. Seriously, Winter looked good in her outfit but it hardly had any long sleeves, she should have really brought a jacket or coat. The season Winter had just ended and it was only the start of spring so of course it would be still cold. But it was half of her friend's fault to invite Winter to Ryujin's game right after school.
The latter couldn't help but sigh before taking off her slightly warm jacket, the cold air hitting against her skin but she didn't mind it as much. Karina gently placed the jacket around Winter, causing her to stop shaking and turn to the taller.
"I really don't need it-"
"You're shaking like crazy, put it on, I really don't mind it." Karina smiled, offering the smaller girl to put on the jacket that was half her size. This time Winter didn't refuse, slipping her arms into the long sleeve jacket that she immediately felt warm in.
"Thank you.." Winter thanked, taking a small bow, her cold breath showing in the air. Karina didn't know why but she felt her ears getting red. Not because of the cold but something else she just couldn't figure what was making her seem so..jolly.
Ever since she saw Winter she always wanted to be near her more and more.
But this wasn't a sudden crush, Karina Yu would never have a crush.
Maybe it was just because Karina wanted to get to know the brunette more, nothing more.
"Not a fan of the cold?"
Winter shook her head slowly, "I prefer spring," the small girl was able to mutter in the cold, snuggling herself in the jacket.
Cute.
"But your name is Winter?"
"It's just a nickname," Winter spoke silently before turning her head to Karina but she was already staring at her. Her eyes.. they're pretty..
"My real name is Kim Minjeong, " Winter spoke causing Karina to let out a soft hum but in reality she was weirdly giggly in the inside. "It's a pretty name, why don't you just stick with it?"
"Winter is a nickname from my mother.." the girl's voice got smaller, looking at the softball game in front of them. That was then Karina knew she shouldn't ask any personal questions so she just smiled softly.
"It suits you."
Karina preferred the season Winter, she had always thought it was gorgeous even at night. The snow that laid along the the ground when it first snowed was also just calming to her. And now she had loved Winter even more than before.
The game had finally ended after hours of sitting on the cold stands, the group sighing in relief. Ryujin had made 4 home runs in total, Winter seemed quite amazed and that satisfied Karina whom sticked next to her. Ryujin's team has won which wasn't quite a surprise, they had one heck of a lineup. The five of them walked away from the field, the one's who sat on the stand stretching from sitting down so long.
