It had been two days since Karina last saw Winter and she couldn't help but feel weirdly upset. If she had known that dropping Winter off at her house on a Friday would be the last time she saw her she would've made an excuse so they could hang out more.Of course they'd text each other, they got quite close in fact but Karina just wanted to see Winter again.
Not having any meaning behind it of course but she just really missed her friend.
They even grew nicknames for each other that they were both comfortable with after spending countless minutes of trying to figure out nicknames for each other.
At 11 PM Karina decided to go to the convenience store. She felt the need to walk to the store since it was not that far away from her house. But of course she immediately regretted it after getting stopped to ask for her number by countless teenage boys few minutes.
With a sigh she finally entered the store, the air seemed much safer than the outside.
Karina greeted the cashier before making her way to the snack isle. Her eyes had been glued on the top shelf as soon as she got in the isle, reaching for a small chocolate bar until-
"Ouch-" A small familiar tone yelped underneath her.
"Sorry- Jeo?" Karina gasped in slight surprise. Her heart immediately stopped once she saw hazel and slightly large eyes. Winter just looked up at her, showing slight discomfort, hardly unable to say anything back.
"Rina- You're stepping on my foot," Winter grunted in slight pain, Karina's eyes widened in panic as she noticed her foot on Winter's smaller foot.
She quickly removed her foot, "oh lord, I'm so sorry Jeo," Karina spoke in distress, her mind flooded with worries.
"Do you need me to get anything? Does it hurt bad? I'm so sorry I didn't see you, you're too small and I just-"
"Rina." Karina soonly went silent after Winter called her nickname and Karina felt like she could jump over the moon. "I'm fine," Winter smiled.
'That damn smile with your beautiful eyes..'
"I still feel bad, may I buy you a snack?"
"No," Winter waved her hands in front of her face, "It's okay you don't have to."
"I want to."
—
The smaller girl munched on her potato chips, sitting on a bench in front of the convenience store with her bag of snacks that she couldn't pay for. "You didn't have to pay for my snacks.. I have money you know." Karina smiled at the girl's small pout, sitting next to her with a tiny distance.
"I hurt your foot. I can't forgive myself for it." Karina shook her head, feeling ashamed of herself by just looking back at the moment. It was the first time in 2 days they saw each other and she stepped on Winter's foot as soon as they met again. God she felt embarrassed.
"You said you would just buy me a snack. You ended up paying for all of my snacks." The brunette complained.
Karina just shrugged with a small grin on her face. She enjoyed to see Winter after a while but that's normally how friends feel. If you're gone from one another for a long time one friend will start to miss the other even more. That's how all friendships went.
Karina wasn't attached no..
She just wanted to be with Winter a lot. Something about the younger girl just made her feel more alive and peaceful. Karina enjoyed Winter's presence and hoped to be with her all the time. She wanted to keep staring in those beautiful pupils of hers, like right now.
