"Why are you following me?" Winter paused in front of the campus, classes just ending.

It was a nice day outside, it was just turning autumn and the different color leaves flew in the air passed their faces.

Karina stood behind Winter, staring at her back. Half of her was even surprised Winter said something first to her, it made her crack a smile.

"We're partners for the project, I thought you were leading me somewhere to work on it."

Oh right. How could Winter forget that Karina was her partner for this stupid project. On top of that, she had to spend a month working with Karina on the topic of love. Something that she didn't even believe that was real.

The whole thing was stupid, Mr. Jeon signing them with a project on human's feelings was stupid. He acted like they were some elementary students who hardly even know what love is. Seriously, just what was that guy's deal?

Winter had gone silent for a few, collecting all her patience to talk with Karina. Finally, she turned to Karina with a sigh. "I'm not in the mood to start it today."

"When will you be in the mood?" Karina asked immediately after, checking the time on her Apple Watch. "I'm free all day tomorrow, will you be in the mood then?" Karina asked, turning her attention back on Winter with a small grin.

"I don't know." Winter replied frustratedly.

"Will you let me know?"

"No."

Karina raised an eyebrow with confusion, tilting her head with a small pout. "But how will we work on the project if you won't tell me?" Karina asked with a frown.

"Stop asking me questions, Karina."

Karina? It feels like she hadn't heard Winter say her name in forever. The taller one sighed, the breeze in the air making her ears cold. Her ears went red, lowering her head down. "I'll talk to you when I talk to you."

"Wait—" Karina paused, her arm reaching out but she didn't touch Winter. "Can I explain myself?"

Winter shot a glance up at her, her eyes hinting that she was tired of Karina already. "I told you stop asking me questions. I will not hear you out again, you hurt me and it's all your fault. I can never trust anyone because of you! What don't you understand, Karina? I gave someone my trust for the first time in a while and what do you do with it? Completely fuck it up!" Winter bursted out, raging anger in her eyes building up.

Karina was speechless, not knowing what to say except stare into the long darkness of Winter's eyes.

"Now leave me the fuck alone. I'll talk to you when I want to work on this stupid project." The brunette had every right to let her anger out, that was only half of it.

Furious, Winter turned away from the stunned older girl. Swallowing the aching and painful lump in her throat.

She didn't know how mad Winter actually was since she hid it, now she was deciding if she even should try again with her.

No, she can't back down no matter how much Winter yells at her. She has to gain her trust once again, even if it means that she'll have to go through the painful words Winter spits at her.

Karina cleared her throat, watching Winter disappear into a distance.

She glanced around, wondering if anyone saw her just get yelled at. With a heavy breathe out, her feet began to walk towards a slightly long bench under the school's biggest tree. Karina sat on  the empty bench, examining her surroundings.

Karina's fingers fidgeted with the strap of her bag as she sat under the towering oak tree, her heart still pounding from Winter's outburst. The crisp autumn air that felt refreshing earlier now seemed to bite at her skin, a reminder of how cold Winter's words had been.
