"Coffee?" I looked at Piper, she stayed over, I don't know exactly why because she had her own place here.Or she could've stayed with Julian, but she wanted to sleep at my place for some reason.
She walked in the kitchen, grabbed a cup of coffee and walked to the couch. "How can you look like that when we drank way too much yesterday?"
I chuckled. "I didn't drink that much - you did"
She shrugged her shoulders, tilted her head as I came to sit with her.
She wanted to ask something, she wanted to ask me something since I got back."Spit it out" I smiled. "Did something happen between Charles and you?" She asked. "You know, after everything that happened"
I guess many people thought it was weird that he didn't date a girl for over a year.
He declared he was single in every interview, didn't bring anyone to the paddock, no pictures with girls.Charles was known for the fact that he moved on pretty quickly.
So I had to admit that I was surprised by it as well.
"Yes" I admitted. "He heard what happened that night, I don't know how or who told him" but it also didn't matter.
"So, he came over a few weeks later, he flew all the way to Australia, for me" I explained. Piper was listening carefully.
"He stayed for a couple of days. We hung out, as friends, he didn't try to kiss me or something" not that I wanted that - he made me forget about Lando just by being my friend.
"Then one night - I don't know what happened - but we kissed, touched, undressed each other..." I looked down at the coffee in my hand. "And I started crying"
"Oh babe" Piper sighed.
I still felt embarrassed about that. I started crying in Charles' arms instead of having crazy sex with him.
"He was being so nice about it though. He cuddled me through the night, even when I was crying about someone else"
And after that, he still visited me whenever he could, alone or with Arthur.
As friends.I had a few flings with people there and he knew about that, so that's why I was surprised when I heard that he wasn't dating anyone for a year now.
'I will wait for you'

Lando picked me up later that day, in his Mclaren. Fair enough, it was a really nice car but I just wished he took a more subtle car.
We already had enough eyes on us.
"Thanks for coming with me" Lando broke the silence as we sat down together. I just shrugged.
"Are you happy in Australia?" He quickly asked. "I am, it's different there - more quiet"
Without a cheating boyfriend and lying friends.
"I bet" he nodded.
The conversation died down, I didn't know what to tell him, what to say to him.
Every time I looked at him, I saw Billie.
He sighed, probably because he felt the tension. I don't know what he was expecting though.
"Are you seeing anyone?" He asked. I shook my head, which made him tilt his head.
Wasn't he expecting that answer? Probably not because I was never not dating anyone.
Even though it was all fake most of the times.I used them to make Lando jealous, to get his attention.
Maybe he realized I didn't want that anymore. I didn't care about his attention anymore.
I saw him with his girlfriend last night, I tried to avoid them the entire night, but every time I looked over at them - he was already looking at me.
She was beautiful, but she wasn't me.
Max, Kelly, Piper, everyone she talked to, they were my friends and she knew that. She felt that.
"Are you going to dinner with everyone?" He shook me out of my thoughts. He was carrying this conversation, trying to not let it die out completely.
"Yes" I nodded. The dinner we always had before a race weekend. The group changed a little though - Nathan and Billie left.
But we gained Julian and Piper. Much better company if you ask me.
And his girlfriend of course.
