Nova's POV
A couple of days have passed since our dinner. The traditional friend group dinner that turned into just dinner between Lando and I.
Since the evening I told him I was staying in Monaco.
He didn't text me, didn't call me, nothing.
I wasn't staying for him - or that was not the only reason at least.
I was staying because of my job - way easier to get to my jobs from here out. I was also staying for Julian.
To keep him in line a bit, he was doing more and more shady stuff. Didn't like that.
I was laying on the couch with Piper, she returned from Spain only a few hours ago.
"I told Lando I am staying in Monaco" I broke the silence. "You did?" She asked.
"Yup" I nodded. "And he said nothing - he didn't care at all"
"Doubt that" she mumbled, leaning back on the couch.
"No, I'm serious Piper. You had to be there, see the look on his face"
He just shrugged his shoulders. Looked at me as if I was a fool.
Didn't run after me when I walked to my car.
Walked extra slowly too - to give him time to catch up with me.
"Were where you that night though?" I asked.
She shrugged, already with her eyes closed. "I was having sex with your brother"
Ew.
"Whatever" I scoffed. "Next time, please do that after our dinner, yeah?"
She sat up, pinching her eyes at me. "Why do you care so much about those dinners?"
I didn't really care that much if I was honest. But Lando did.
I shrugged. "Lando just seemed sad about it"
She chuckled. "Just go tell him how you feel already"
A tired Piper definitely was an honest Piper.
"I don't feel anything for him"
She chuckled again.
"Why are you chuckling? I don't love him, he doesn't love me - we are just friends"
Except that he showed me colors I couldn't see with anyone else.
"No you are not" she mumbled, still laying down on the couch.
"Piper, I swear we are ju-"
"You are not just friends Nova" she interrupted me. "I spend an entire weekend with Lando - he doesn't see you as a friend"
"Wha-? Did he say anything about me?" I pulled the blanket off her.
She sighed. "He can't stop talking about you" she sat up and looked at me. "Everything he does, is for you. It's never not about you"
"And everything you do is for him - don't try to deny it" she went on. "You want those dinners to continue because Lando likes them"
I like them too - gives me a chance to look at Lando.
"You're staying in Monaco for him" she was counting the reasons on her fingers.
Not necessarily for him - but yeah he was a reason.
She held out a third finger. "You're wearing white when you expect him to be there"
Nothing to say to that because it's true.
"You guys are not over each other and you never will be" she mumbled, laying back down.
I looked at her for a while. She was right, ever since I came back, all I wanted was his attention, his arms around me, him to notice me.
I got up, grabbed my jacket and my phone.
"Where are you going?" Piper looked up at me, her eyebrows raised.
"I am gonna take your advice" I walked to the door. "I am gonna tell him how I feel about him"
She smiled proudly. "You go girl"
I walked out of my apartment, looked up at the stars and started walking.
