Chase your dreams, for they are the seeds.

Make decisions, as they serve as the fertilizer.

Bring your actions to life, as they are the sun and the rain.

Until your life blooms in all its glory.

Magnus - present

Magnus entered the commander's office.

"Good morning, Luke," he said while closing the door behind him with a soft click.

Luke, sitting behind his desk, looked up. "Good morning, Magnus," he responded, pushing together the documents he had been reading just moments before.

"I'm glad you came. Please, have a seat."

Luke gestured invitingly to the chair on the other side of the desk. Magnus followed the invitation, settling into the chair. He leaned back against the backrest and crossed his legs.

"How are you and your kids? Have Cahya and Jarin settled in well?" Luke asked before Magnus could say anything.

"Good, so far," Magnus answered with a hint of a smile. "The two are excited to attend school."

A contented smile appeared on Luke's face, reflected in fine lines around his eyes.

"That's good to hear," the alpha said. With a more serious tone, he asked, "Regarding the incident a few days ago... are they okay?"

"Yes, Alec and I had a few talks with them. So far, everything seems to be okay."

Luke nodded.

"That's good to hear."

The conversation paused for a moment, and a silence spread between them. Magnus used the moment to organize his thoughts. He was eager to know if Luke had discovered anything about the group of traders who had abducted him.

"Have you been able to find..." Magnus began.

"I wanted to..." Luke resumed the conversation at the same time.

Luke gestured with his hand, indicating that Magnus could go first.

"Have you been able to find out anything about the trafficking ring?" Magnus asked.

Luke shook his head.

"Unfortunately not. Your information was, regrettably, too outdated. Where you suspected their hideout, there's only an abandoned bunker that's been empty for a few years."

Magnus wasn't sure if he should feel relieved or not upon receiving this news. On one hand, he wanted the alphas to be punished for their actions and to ensure they could never again capture, abuse, and sell an omega. On the other hand, he never wanted to see those alphas again.

"Maybe the trafficking ring has dissolved," Magnus pondered aloud.

"We can only hope."

Back then, Magnus hadn't formed personal bonds with the other omegas, but their shared fate had created a connection among them. Even though he could hardly remember names or faces today, he hoped his assumption was right and the human trafficking group no longer existed.

"If we do learn anything more, I'll let you know."

"Okay, thanks, Luke."

Again, they fell silent before Luke redirected the conversation and asked: "Actually, what I wanted to talk to you about... Tessa told me you've been helping out at the infirmary in the past few days."

"That's true," Magnus confirmed with a brief nod.

"She praised your work and mentioned she'd like to continue your medical training. I would also appreciate it if you're willing. We could use another doctor here in New York."
