Chapter 36 - Infinite Bond of Love

Magnus

Magnus was on his way to Alec's office. They had planned to have dinner together with the others in the main hall that evening, but his alpha was already a good fifteen minutes late. This was quite unusual for Alec, who was typically very punctual.

Magnus opened the door to Alec's office without knocking and entered the room with quick steps.

"Alexander, where...?" he began, but stopped his question when he saw that Alec wasn't alone.

"I'm sure Magnus will say yes," Jace said, who stood with his back to the door.

"What are you talking about?" Magnus asked, stepping further into the room.

Alec jumped up from his chair, and Jace whirled around to face him. A look of shock, almost panic, was on both alphas' faces. Magnus narrowed his eyes.

"It's a secret," Alec replied hastily.

Magnus saw a hint of blush creeping up on Alec's face and raised an eyebrow.

"It's a surprise," Jace added, earning a scowl from his brother. Magnus looked between his alpha and Jace, crossing his arms in front of his chest.

"I don't like surprises," he said in a pouting tone, causing Alec to hang his head and emit a frustrated noise.

"I think you'll love this one," Jace said with a wink, patting him on the shoulder.

"Jace!" Alec warned with a hiss.

"What?"

"You have something important to do!"

An irritated expression appeared on the blond alpha's face.

"Oh, do I?" he asked.

"Go now, Captain," Alec growled, then added, "That's an order!"

Jace immediately straightened up and saluted.

"Yes, Commander," he replied in a serious tone, but Magnus saw the mischievous twinkle in Jace's eyes and furrowed his eyebrows.

Once Alec's brother had left the room, his alpha sank back into his chair and buried his head in his hands. A soft sigh escaped him. Magnus gave Alec a moment before walking behind the desk.

"So, what exactly are you planning for a surprise?" he asked, placing his hands on Alec's shoulders.

"Magnus, it's a secret. Otherwise, it wouldn't be a surprise would it," Alec replied. His voice sounded frustrated and amused at the same time. Magnus pursed his lips in a pout.

"If it's a secret, why does Jace know about it?" he asked. Alec sat up and turned in his chair to face him. Magnus' hands fell from his shoulders.

"Simple, he's helping me," Alec answered with a gentle tone, wrapping his hands around Magnus' waist. Magnus made a disappointed noise but dropped the subject. Instead, he allowed himself to be pulled between his alpha's thighs. Alec pressed his face into Magnus' stomach, and Magnus wrapped his arms around Alec's neck.

"What about our plan to have dinner in the hall tonight?" he asked.

Alec sat up abruptly.

"Oh, damn," Alec cursed. "I totally forgot."
