"Jordyn, can you get off your phone for at least a minute? I'm trying to talk to you." My dad sighs.

I look up at him and put my phone down. "Sorry." I mutter. "You're okay, honey. I just wanted to tell you that we're going to Nana and Pop's house for dinner tonight." He says.

"Seriously, Dad? You know I hate going over there." I groan. "Jordyn, they're your grandparents. You know they love you." He tells me.

Don't get me wrong, I love my grandparents, but they're extremely old fashioned. I get yelled at for being on my phone too much and they're just kinda strict.

"Dad, I was planning on going to Bil's house tonight." I frown. "Jesus, Billie's stealing my daughter away from me." Dad chuckles. "I barely see you anymore when you're with her."

"I know, but we just... we're really close right now." I shrug. "I'm aware. C'mon, kiddo, all I'm asking for is one night. They really want to see you and it's my day off so I'd like to spend time with you." He explains.

"But we already made plans!" I groan in annoyance. "What? Sit in her room and watch movies all day? Cuddle like the little lovebirds you are?" He asks.

"Dad!" I glare at him. "We are not.. lovebirds. Don't say that." I say. "Girlfriends?" He winks. "Oh my god, she doesn't even like me like that! She's, like, in love with another girl." I sigh.

"How do you know?" He furrows his eyebrows. "She told me." I shrug my shoulders. "Yeah, but it could be you." He suggests. "It's not." I roll my eyes.

"Well whatever, you still are coming tonight. You've been texting her all day and you slept over her place last night, so I want you here just for today. I'm sure you'll survive."

"But, Dad, I-"

"No buts, Jordyn. You're going." He says. "And I don't want you staying over Billie's house all the time anymore."

He's never this strict. What's up with him?

"Dad, she's my best friend." I complain. "I'm 18 and I can make my own decisions."

"JJ, I said you're coming. Please don't argue with me. All I want is to spend time with you and so do your grandparents." Dad sighs.

"Dad, pl-"

"Oh my god, it's not the end of the world, Jord! It's one night!" He exclaims.

"Fine." I huff and get up from my seat and go up to my room.
