"C'mon, just come in. He's not gonna be mean."

"I'm scared, Jordy." Billie sighs. "Don't be." I shake my head. "You know how he is."

"Ugh, fine." She rolls her eyes, sighing in defeat.

We're at my dad's house and Billie's scared to see him again since she knows he's mad about how she treated me before we broke up.

But what he doesn't know is that we're... sort of getting together again.

The two of us walk up to the front door and I walk in.  Billie stands behind me and I grab her hand. "You're okay, I promise."

She gives me a small smile and I walk with her into the living room where my dad is sitting. "Hi, honey." He smiles. "Hi." I reply.

"Hi, Billie." My dad says to her. "Hi, Phil." She responds nervously. "That's 'Mr. Jones' to you." He says.

"Dad, enough." I roll my eyes. "Sorry, sir." Billie says. "Don't be sorry, Bil. Dad, you don't have to be like that. We're good now." I tell him.

"You guys are good?" He asks. "Yup." I nod. "Alright, come here, kid. I've missed you." My dad says to her, holding out his arms.

That was fast.

Billie chuckles and walks over to hug him. "I thought you hated me." She says. "I only hate you if Jordyn does. But just so you know, I'm still a cop and I will hate you if you hurt her again." He warns.

"Dad." I sigh. "What? I'm being supportive." Dad shrugs. "Billie and I.. we're friends. We're good again." I tell him.

"Alright." He nods his head. "I'm gonna get a drink. You girls want anything?"

"I'm good, thank you." I reply. "No thanks." Bil answers.

When my dad leaves the room, Billie turns to me. "Why didn't you tell him?"

"Bil, I promise you it's nothing against you, we're just not official or anything yet. I told you I'm not exactly ready yet and I just wanna take it slow." I tell her.

"I'm sorry, Jord. I'm- I'm just overthinking so much and freaking out about everything. I really don't wanna fuck things up with you because I still really love you." She sighs.

"Billie, I seriously don't think I couldn't love you even if I tried. I feel like I'm always gonna be tied to you no matter what. I don't want you to worry because you shouldn't. I'm always gonna be yours, B. That's just how it is." I shrug.

Billie smiles softly and grabs my face in her hands before kissing me.

"Friends, huh?"

The two of us pull away and see my dad, standing there.

"I knew that was bullshit." He laughs and sits down across from us. "Are you gonna slap me?" Billie sighs. "Billie," Dad chuckles. "I'm not gonna slap you. As long as you treat my daughter good, we're good. I don't want no more of her crying 'cause of you, understood?"

"Dad, really?" I sigh.

"I've made you cry more than once?" Billie asks me. "Baby, I'm so sorry."
