SP1 said: "Matt and Adara. There is a vessel approaching that's bigger than a small asteroid. It will come to a stop just a few hundred kilometres away from the Emissary's spaceship at its current rate of deceleration."
SP1 said: "The Emissary ship is attempting to place itself between us and the approaching ship."
Matt said: "So, this is a Bennu ship. It is like the pictures they showed us earlier. It looks stronger and more intimidating than the Emissary ship. We can't let our new friends die for us. SP1, can you extend a shield around the Emissary's ship?"
SP1 said: "Yes, I need to get closer Administrator. The Bennu ship is firing into the Emissary as we speak. There is damage appearing on the Emissary's spaceship, Sir."
Then SP1 said: "I am enclosing it in my extended shield and placing us between the two combatants. The Bennu spaceship is blasting at our shields, but their weapons are ineffective. I think is worth noting that the Emissary ship did not return fire in self-defence."
Matt said: "Let me know when they stop firing and contact the Emissary to see if they're okay."
A short time later, SP1 answered: "The Emissary is in a critical condition, and the assistant is asking for help."
Matt said: "Adara, go to the Emissary's ship and see if you can heal him. 'B' Sharp, protect the minds of the GRAV Team and scan the attacker to see if they differ from the Emissaries?"
'B' Sharp replied: "Yes, Sir. The enemy is not of the Emissary's species. They have an avian feeling to them, but that's all I can glean without breaking down one of their psychic barriers. Also, the Impervium alloy of SP1's hull not only blocks any type of scan but also protects those within from psychic probes."
Matt said: I'm pleased about that. I'm sure the Bennu could strip data from minds if the emissaries and Krell can. It was part of the interview testing. Being psychic or able to defend against those who are, seems to be a necessity for achieving higher levels of technology.
Adara sent: "If you can't invent it, steel it. We are no different from others in that respect."
Matt asked: "Where are you now? Adara."
Aloud, Adara replied: "I'm space suited and entering the Emissary ship's airlock. Whoa! This place is a right-off. I found the Emissary. His thorax carapace is shattered, and the Assistant said that the wound is fatal, but their species take a very long time to die."
"I must concentrate and in addition the fatal wounds on the Emissary, the assistant is missing two limbs. I'll contact you when I'm done. Oh, the Bennu ceased firing as soon as they realised that we are protecting the Emissary ship."
Adara said: "Assistant. Now is a time for you to trust. Drop your personal shield. I need to examine you from head to toe to ensure I can repair you. Once I repair you, then I can also repair the Emissary's body."
The Assistant dropped his shield, immediately and Adara scanned him thoroughly. She retracted her suit's gloves and helmet then held out her hand to the Assistant. He placed one of his healthy limbs gently in her hand.
Adara thought: "Heal better than new." Then she placed her other hand on the prone, Chief Emissary's damaged thorax and sent trillions of Nanites and she thought: "Heal better than new."
The assistant made unusual chirping noises as his limbs re-grew and his other minor injuries appeared to repair themselves by magic. When it was complete, Adara held out her hand and it placed one of its new limbs in her hand.
Adara made a big deal of inspecting the repair while recalling her Nanites, and when they were back on board, Adara released the attendant's limb. It looked at the limbs while it expressed its amazed gratitude.
