After months of coming in and out of Hyperlight travel involving countless acceleration and deceleration skips, the Eden fleet came to the edge of the Star System identical to the Emissary Queen's 'sketchy' memory record.
Storm called Matt and Sharon to the Bridge and when they entered, she said: "Good morning, Administrators, we're skirting the target system now, and preliminary scans indicate that the system is deserted. This is the first system I've seen that has two perfectly habitable planets in the goldilocks zone. This is most unusual."
"I'd like permission to dispatch ships to thoroughly survey each astral body to ensure the system is everything it appears to be. I'd like to do it before we commit to landing, Sir."
Matt launched himself into the command chair and said: 'Good morning to you, Storm, let's do it."
Matt asked Joshua and Susan to lead a survey team with one half of his marines for the primary goldilocks' planet, while the SP1's GRAV Team including Peter and Jenny, surveyed the second planet with the other half of Joshua's Marine Battalion.
The Graviton ships warships began the critical task of evaluating each planetary body outside the goldilocks zone as Matt ordered.
Matt thought: "Adara, are you there?"
Adara sent: "I'm coming up the main corridor to the Bridge now, Grandfather."
When she arrived, Matt said: "Can you say for sure that there are no highly evolved species on these planets?"
Adara replied: "'B' Sharp has already finished a psychic survey of the whole system and is happy that there are no higher intelligence civilisations, but just in case a species can block scans like we do, I'll ensure to make an in-depth probing when I get to the surface. I'll have a better feel for it then and will be able to detect the smallest stray thought.
'B' Sharp sent: "I can't detect any higher-level life forms on the landmasses. There are many in the ocean, but they feel like Earth mammals like whales and dolphins. Some of the sea life is quite smart, but there are no bipedal beings with opposing thumbs. Many are predators as you would expect. However, I sense nothing that would suggest that we need to leave."
Everyone wanted to go to the surface of either planet. The only person of the NINE who must stay behind was Sharon.
Many of the Main population wanted to visit, but most of those refused to have the security protection measures that included the AI regulator in their brain cortex, and the Ebola/Impervium virus inoculation.
Ex-military personnel from the general population undertook the security treatments as soon as they became available, and when each had finished their treatment, they were given personal Infinity Battery modified spacesuits the same as those developed by the GRAV Team.
Some of those re-enlisted soldiers now occupied seats in Matt's Infinity Battery powered graviton shuttle. Every Bio-human on-board wore Impervium spacesuits, even though they would be breathing the air of the planet once tests proved it to be clear of harmful pathogens.
From the findings taken from both planets, it was hard to choose which was better. They were both excellent, but in the end, they decided on planet one as the new home for the small Neanderthal population.
Calemon's records held images of villages, and individual dwellings taken from each location on Earth as well as the longitude and latitude where they had found Neanderthal families. The team spent many weeks trying to find similar sites for each family, so the shock of relocation would be less stressful.
Each tiny campsite and village were built precisely to the specifications of the one they had originally come from. Before each site was declared liveable, Calemon and Matt or Sharon, 'depending on whose turn it was to stay' inspected every element for authenticity. There were many reconstructions but eventually, Calemon was happy that everything was acceptable for all the families accept the cave-dwelling family.
