Scott Blue POV

I could not even stand it at this point. Lesley just didn't see or hear about Leo on the news, and didn't give me the chance to explain it to her!

I know that Henry is usually up to date with the latest news, but the chances that he knows about Leo getting arrested is a pretty low chance. Henry is joining Royal for a business trip to Colorado.

I was very curious that afternoon. When Lesley came back from grocery shopping, I asked her the question, "Can I call up Henry?"

Lesley folds up the paper grocery bag and deeply sighs. "Why?"

"I have a question."

"He's probably on the plane." She tells me as she gives me a whole pile of folded paper bags. It's so obvious that she wants me to tuck those away in the garage.

"But what if he's not on the plane?"

"What possibly do you need to ask?"

What I really wanted to ask, was if he knows about my Father threatening to murder me to the entire world. If I told Henry that I wanted to flee the country, he would let me go for it. Well, at least he wouldn't stop me. Not unless he needs me for one of his stupid plans.

I didn't answer Lesley's question. That's only because I can't think of a good answer.

"Okay." She answers to my silence, "Anyway, I am required to do another night shift, so you know what that means."

"Yes, Lesley. I know what that means." I sighed.

"Remember what I told you, Scott. You got to stay next door when this happens."

Lesley goes into the living room and I follow her. "Why can't I stay here?"

"I don't want anything to happen to you when alone! Someone your age shouldn't be alone at night."

"I know that my cousins think they're so cool, but I don't need them! I only need myself!" I explain. I was worried that I sounded like I had an attitude, and I really hoped that Lesley didn't notice.

"What are you-" She begins before the phone starts ringing, "Hold on." She says before rushing to answer it.

I can't get away from the vision of my Father yelling that he'll find me and kill me.

It took a big risk, but I knew just what I had to do. I quickly told a distracted Lesley that I had to get to the playground, with a lie that was that everyone was there.

Not everyone was there. Kids are probably eating dinner with their families, but I knew that Roy was there.

I walk alone to the playground with my hood up. (It's really warm) I had to do it though. People watch the news, and they make the connections. I had this disturbing thought that every other adult will come up to me saying, Your Dad wants to kill you, did you knew that? Or something like You're going to get killed. It's your destiny, did you know? Or even something worse like, You're going to end up just like your Father!

So I put my hands in my pockets and start running. I ran under the bridge, and to the swing set where Roy was swinging happily.

"Roy, I have to talk to you!"

"What?"

"I have to talk to you!"

He stops himself and looks at me blankly. "What?"

"Roy!" I whisper, "Don't ask me, what! Did you watch the news last night? This was like at eight something at night."

"The local news?"
