Chapter 7

Irina's POV

Maxim ran a full panel std and sti test so we hoping that comes back negative. I'm fortunately still a healthy weight and injury free.

After my doctor visit Sasha took me shopping for essentials and clothes. I felt bad using his money but he was very reassuring.

He bought me some makeup as well since I didn't want my parents to see me with all the dark circles around my eyes.

We're home now and waiting for the elders to arrive for dinner.

The doorbell rings and I feel my heart rate spike. Sasha goes to open the door while the rest of us sit at the table

"Hide behind the door!" The boys whisper and I comply

"Is everything okay?" Mom asks

"Things are good ma."

"Then why the emergency family dinner?" Dad asks

"We have a guest."

With that I step out from behind the door

"Hi everyone."

The room goes quiet as they stare at me

Surprisingly mom pushes past everyone to pull me into a bone crushing hug

"My baby is back!" She screams

"I'm sorry." I cried

"It's okay kitty. All that counts is that you found your way back home." She soothed me through her own tears

It took us ten minutes to calm down. During this entire scene the men had yet to comment.

Mom and I stood up from the ground to make our way to the dining room.

I felt someone grab my wrist. When I turned I saw it was Sergei

"Welcome back." He told me before letting go

I smiled at him before sitting down at the table

Dinner was very quiet and awkward. I could feel father, uncle, and grandfather staring at me the whole time. There was also an unknown woman present. I had a hunch on who she was though

After dinner Yuri took the kids to his house so we could all talk

"I'm guessing you're my parents' adopted daughter who shook the underworld with your debut." I broke the ice

"Yeah, I'm Haruhi."

"It's nice to meet the person who made my parents whole again. I'm Irina." I greeted my replacement

"Why are you back Irina?"

"Vlad!" My mother scolded grandfather

"He's right to ask. After all this time and the heartache we endured. Why do you think you have the right to waltz back into our lives?"

I felt my heart break when my father asked me that.

"Dad what the fuck?!"

"It's fine Sasha. This is the response I expected. To answer your question father, I have no right. I recently realized the mistake I made eighteen years ago. Last night Adriana saved me from continuing my life as a whore. When I saw the owl mask I remembered the time I overheard my husband speaking about the Little Owl. Bearing in mind the rumors of her being Sasha's heiress, I begged her to bring me here."

"If you're happily married why return? Do you enjoy hurting this family?" Haruhi asked

"I was just married. There was nothing happy about it."
