⚠️⚠️⚠️ Trigger Warning: S/A ⚠️⚠️⚠️
Aleksandr's POV
"What mess do you think dumb and dumber are going to create?" Sergei asks me
"Adriana and Nikolai have a lot on the line now that they're going to swear into the family. I don't think they'll cause any trouble this time around." Mabel said confidently
"Where does one acquire such a large amount of ignorance?" I asked her and she slapped my chest
"It's not ignorance! It's optimism!"
"Optimism is wasted on Adriana and Nikolai." Haru told her
"You guys should just give them the benefit of the doubt." She pouted so I pecked her pouty lips
"Are Adriana and Nikolai that bad?" Irina asked
"They're really hard working and genuinely caring kids but when left together unsupervised they get into Sergei level trouble."
"Sometimes they feel worse than Sergei." Dad added
"So me and Sergei level mischief." Irina smiled
"Oh gosh I forgot how bad you two were. Those two really do take after you two." Mom shook her head
"Did you two cause a lot of trouble together?" Mabel asked
"You have no idea. Those two would compete to see who could cause the most trouble, then when you thought things couldn't get any worse they'd pull a joint scheme." Grandfather explained
"My partner in crime." Sergei said to Irina
"Let's place bets on how long it'll take for us to return? I think we'll have to rush back it three days." Haru said
"I think we'll be able to complete the full five days of the trip." Mabel beamed
"If they're really as bad as you guys say no one should unpack, we'll be back on this plane in a matter of hours."
We all placed our bets and continued talking.
9 Hours Later
We arrived at the Moscow property almost two hours ago and it was emotional to say the least. Irina ended up staying in her old room with Sergei to process the overwhelming emotions she was feeling. I wish there was something I could do to help but she has Sergei so I'm just giving her space
"Hey Alek can I talk to you?" Haru pulled me out of my thoughts
"Sure, is something wrong?"
"I'm not sure yet. I'm saying this out of love and concern for my family. I feel like we were way too welcoming with Irina given her history. Like how do we know anything she said was the truth? We only have the word of a notorious liar."
"I verified her ex's death, the abuse, her role in his mafia, and the death threats her ex in laws have been sending."
"But what if that's all fabricated so she can betray the family again?"
"The idea has crossed my mind but there's nothing to substantiate that hunch. For now we have to be cautious but still welcoming."
"Does Sergei know to do that?" She raised her voice
"Sergei is a grown man who can make his own decisions."
"But shouldn't you at least warn him? He's falling for her manipulation."
"Haruhi, do not approach Sergei with this issue. It will not be received well at all." I warned her
"If you don't I might have to." She spat
