Chapter 26

Alessio's POV

I'm at home in my room playing video games when dad knocks and enters my room

"Can you pause the game?"

"I'm playing online so I really can't."

"Okay then I'll wait until you're done."

"Just talk, I can multitask."

"Next week we're going to help JJ set up her college room."

I inadvertently rolled my eyes at that.

Did he seriously come here to talk about her? I couldn't care less about what she's up to.

"Are you listening?" He interrupted my thoughts

"Yeah, so when do we leave?"

"We'll be leaving on Sunday while you'll be staying here with Sergei and Irina."

"What?! Why am I being excluded?" I finally looked at him

"Do you really have to ask?"

"Did Adriana say she didn't want me there?"

"No she doesn't know I disinvited you. I decided this because I find your attitude towards her disgusting and I don't want you to ruin what should be a happen memory for your sister. Since you no longer want anything to do with your sister I will be keeping your lives separate. The same way you won't be invited to events for your sister, she won't be involved in any of yours. What happened at summer camp made me realize I can't force you two to make up so I won't." He explained coldly

"That's not fair!"

"How do you suppose?" As asked coldly

"Cause you're punishing me."

"Do I have a reason to punish you?"

"No!"

"Then why are you so defensive? This isn't a punishment, I'm just respecting your wishes after not doing so in the past. If you feel punished, maybe you should do some self reflecting and figure out why you feel so guilty."

"Why are you being so mean to me? I wasn't the one who threw the party!"

"Alessio you snuck into Xander's trunk just to get wasted at a party. You had to get your stomach pumped that time and I didn't punish you as much as you want me to punish JJ. You could have been assaulted back then too. But now you're suddenly against partying because it involves your sister."

"Stop yelling at me!" I screamed as I began to cry

"I'm not yelling Joey. I guess you just aren't used to me using this tone with you."

"You don't even talk to Xander like this and he's done worse."

I bet he's never been this mean to JJ

"Sunny gets into standard horny teenage boy trouble. Compared to me and my siblings he's pretty tamed. You create just as much trouble as Xander does. The only difference is that I stupidly haven't addressed it as harshly."

"Then why now?"

"Because you're starting to believe this little angel act you put on. You've also been overly critical of your sister so I'm putting an end to it now. If I let you continue down this path I'll be doing you a disservice."

"How are you gonna put an end to my behavior? You gonna hit me?"

"I should shouldn't I? Fortunately for you that isn't my style. What I am gonna do is the following. You will no longer get away with everything just because you're the youngest. Your actions will have real consequences. I should've done this from the start but I listened to your brother and sister who always defended you even when you were in the wrong. I'll also be talking to your therapist about addressing the resentment you have towards JJ."
