Chapter 24

Xander's POV

It's already nearing the end of August and I still haven't told dad about my college room assignment.

My school emailed me back and explained it wasn't a mistake. None of the roommates in that unit are allergic to dogs and since it's coed they placed me there.

They told me I could join the waitlist for a new but I declined. If my roommates haven't expressed an issue with me being a guy, why ruin what could be a good thing.

Two weeks ago I was added to a group chat with all my roommates. They all seem really nice so far. We've just been chatting about apartment expectations and what everyone can bring to the apartment.

"Texting your Girlfriend?" Adriana taunted so I flipped her off

"Rude!" She whined

"Have you seen Yuri?" I ask her

"I saw him go next door, why?"

"I still haven't told dad about my roommates so I wanna ask Yuri for help breaking it to dad."

"Speaking of breaking news to dad, I need your help."

"With?"

"Well you see, I want to convince dad to cancel my housing contract so I can live off campus in an apartment with the guys."

"Dude, what you're looking for is a miracle."

"I'm serious Xan."

"I am too. Dad would never agree to that. I don't even agree with that."

"Why not?"

"You're trying to live with three dudes. Who would agree with that?"

"You're living with chicks!"

"Yeah but that better for some reason."

"Let's just ask Yuri."

I nodded and we walked next door to gramps and babushka's house. The front door was unlocked so we entered.

"Hi babies!" Babushka called from the kitchen

"Hi granny. Have you seen Yuri?"

"He's downstairs."

"Thanks babushka." I told her

The two of us ascended down the staircase to find every man in the family drinking and playing poker.

"Why are you two down here?" Dad asked with an attitude

"We wanted to talk to Yuri."

"About?" Gramps asked suspiciously

"That's private information old man. If I told you I'd have to kill you." JJ joked

"You're still grounded so no scheming." Dima told AJ

"I'm not! We're just in search of some brotherly advice from our Uncle." She reasoned

"I wanna smoke anyways so let's go to the roof." Yuri stood up

We followed behind him until we reached the roof. Yuri leaned against the countertop of the rooftop kitchen appliances while the two of us sat down across from him. He lit his joint before nodding which was our queue to begin

"So I got my dorm assignment last month and I got put in an apartment with only women."

"What? So you're the only guy? Did you check if it was a mistake?"

"That's the first thing I did but that unit is coed and none of them are allergic to dogs."

"Who cares? Jesse is hypoallergenic to begin with. Can't you switch?"
