Chapter 13: I Thought You Died

Astrid's POV

I ran my hands through Hiccup's hair. I was thinking of what my parents had said. They had asked Hiccup if he had taken care of me, was that so much of a question to them? Sure, Hiccup did a lot of idiotic things, but did they question if he took care of me? Of course he did! I remembered when Stormfly had gotten taken by the hunters and I was just drifting in the ocean.

Flashback

I was drifting in the ocean while a storm was going on. I was holding on to a piece of wood for dear life. This is how I go. At 19 years old.

And I haven't even told Hiccup that I like him.

Wonderful. These were the thoughts that were going on in my mind. I was drenched completely.

The wood was slipping, I didn't have enough energy to swim. I felt as the wood slipped from my grasp and I started sinking. Just then, I saw Hiccup and Toothless dive in to the cold, icy water, and I felt Hiccups strong hand around my wrist. He pulls me up a little, then puts a hand around my waist and swims up towards Toothless. He pulls us both up onto Toothless and we get out of the water.

"Astrid! Astrid!" He's shaking my shoulders.

"What took you so long?" Is all I manage to get out.

"Oh thank the gods." I hear hiccup say, as he pulls me into a hug, and I finally feel warmth for the first time in hours. My consciousness slips away and everything fades away, my last thought being, Thank the gods for Hiccup.
End of flashback
My mind falls back to the present as I remember some of the other times Hiccup has taken care of me. When I got the scourge of Odin. He took care of me, searched the dragon eye notes relentlessly for a buffalord dragon, then brought me to the dragon. I remember his words from that day. "I can't imagine a world without you in it." I realize that my parents don't know what Hiccup and I have been through.

I start getting drowsy and I lay my down next to hiccup. I put my arms on his shoulder and he unconsciously puts an arm around my waist. I snuggle into his warmth and I close my eyes to sleep.

Eret's POV(hey we haven't done this in a while.)

I woke up next to Heather in the cove. I looked around to see that, Astrid and Hiccup were already gone. I noticed that Heather was moving around a little.

"Good morning Heather." I said to her.

"Good morning Eret." She muttered back to me. She wouldn't look up at me.

"C'mon, Survivalist (that's Eret's nickname for Heather.). We need to go and train." I reminded her.

"Shut up Trapper (Heathers nickname for Eret.
You probably figured this out already.)." She grumbled.

Hmm, wait a minute. I whistled for Skullcrusher.

"What is it?" He roared at me.

"Can you get Heather up please?" I whisper to him.

(Ok, I'm not being very clear. When the text is underlined, that's when the dragon is talking.
When the characters are talking to the dragons, I'm not underlining it. Why? Because the dragons can understand them in this story.
Weird. I know.)

He rolls his eyes, but starts to lick Heather awake. Just as she's settling back into a comfortable sleep, she's met with a spiky younger on her cheek, forcing her awake.

"ERET! Come on! Get Skullcrusher to stop. I just want to sleep." She shouted.

"Sorry love." I whispered to her. She grumbled and very angrily got up. She did smack my arm though.
