Parekh Bhawan,
9:00 pm.

Aashna was confused. She thought Aarav was taking her out to dinner. Then, why was she in her maiden house? She felt her heart fall as she glanced at the entrance of the mansion. This place has only given her pain and stood as the remainder of the abuse. She tried hard to accept this place as her home but it never was. And she finally has a home, where her husband lives, Modi Bhawan.
"Aarav, why are we here?" Aashna sounded bitter and uncomfortable to her ears as well. If Aarav sensed her discomfort, he didn't show it. He smiled in assurance, "Just a little stop before our dinner date, Aashna." Aashna didn't feel assured. Instead, a pit formed in her stomach. She felt something was bound to happen. Something that she wouldn't like. Aarav opened the door of her side, forwarding his hand, "Come." Aashna followed, unable to refuse.
The guard that stood outside the main door straightened, wide-eyed, "Mr M-Modi?" Aashna noticed how she was invisible to the guard who had seen her grow up. She tried to be polite, "How are you, Bhanu Kaka?"
The guard finally noticed the daughter of the house that he protected. A smile curled his lips, "Aashna dikri! How are you?"
Aashna hugged the man, "I am fine, Kaka. What about you? How is Kaki?" The man chuckled with delight, patting Aashna's back before pulling out of the hug, "We are fine." And then his eyes fell on the Modi heir whose jaw ticked. He gulped, "L-let me call, maalik sahab, and maalkin."
Aashna frowned at the sudden change in Bhanu Kaka. More than that, she feared meeting her parents. The last time she was here, they beat her brutally and locked her in darkness. She trembled. A hand engulfed hers in warmth and silent support. Her eyes raised to meet the intense brown orbs. Aarav nodded at her before placing a tender kiss on her forehead. It felt like he understood her turmoil. "I am with you. Don't be afraid." Aarav reassured before pulling her inside.
In the hall, Brijesh Parekh stood with arms crossed, unwelcoming. Bela Parekh was standing by her husband, cautious. And Ramya Parekh was the only one who was eager. Excited even. Aarav walked and stopped before Ramya.
Ramya smiled, "Aarav, so good to see you." Aarav sat down, "I can't say the same." His bland answer made Ramya flinch. Brijesh uncrossed his hands, glaring, "Mr Modi, may I ask the reason behind your visit?"
Aashna hated how her father was behaving with her husband. Son-in-laws were welcomed with utter care and affection, and respect and abundance in India, in her culture. And her parents? They looked every bit angry, restrained, and hostile. Was it because of her that Aarav was being treated so disrespectfully and harshly?
"May I ask why your runaway daughter has come back?" Aarav responded leisurely. Brijesh clenched his jaw, "She was--" Aarav cut in, "and why is she only back after my marriage? Did she plan to evade the marriage? Am I undesirable, Ramya?"
Ramya, frantic, jumped to say, "No! It was a mistake!" Aarav half smiled, "then, why were you in my home?" Brijesh stared at Ramya in surprise. Bela squirmed in discomfort. Aarav smirked, hmm, he doesn't know about his daughter's escapades but his wife does. Interesting.
Ramya shifted on her feet, "I went to apologise." Aarav leaned on his knees, "apologise to me, then." Brijesh fumed, "She won't do such a thing--" Ramya immediately apologized, "Aarav, I am so sorry. I was brainwashed by Aashna di."
This fool! Brijesh glared at Ramya. His daughter didn't know how much the Modi heir favoured the black bitch. She is going to regret saying that. Fucking moron!
