Hello and welcome ladies, gentles, non-binary or anyone else willing to read this story.

It is I: Retsag99, your humble servant.
As you might have guessed this chapter is an Afterword for volume 1 and thus completely optional, meaning that you can skip ahead to the next chapter if you don't care about my opinion without losing any of the plot, but you will hurt my feeling ever so slightly :[

Either way, this short chapter will be divided in 3 parts:

-Explaining and clarifying the work

-My general thoughts on this fic

-Announcements for the future

(You can skip ahead to whichever part you are interested in; I won't judge.)

Explaining and clarifying the work

Let's warm up with something easy to explain, like how in chapter 6: "My Legacy I", the "I" is a 1 in roman numeral. (told you it was easy)

Now, onto something a bit more complex, In chapter 7, 19 and 20 the parts with Hannadreda's POV are announced by her name, followed by a row of interrogation points. Those interrogation points refer to her surname, which she, herself, doesn't know. (The number of interrogations point also doesn't mean anything)

As for the "dream" referenced by Nico in chapter 28: "In the End", in his introduction theme: "In the End" and in Arthur's theme: "Silent Solitude" is a metaphor for either Tessia's or Arthur's second life (Art after reincarnating in Dicathen and Tessia after going back in time)

To conclude with this part, I will touch on The Legacy of It All (the character) by mentioning that there are very specific conditions that need to be met for her to show up, so don't think that she is a free victory card Tessia can pull out whenever to trivialize any fight.

My general thoughts

1-How it started

It all started 14.5 billion years ago when the universe firs-

On a more serious note, I had the general idea of "Time traveling Tessia" after I read the webtoon and before I caught up to the novels, but never found any interesting angle to approach the idea with.
After catching up to the novel, and specifically volume 9 I managed to tie down the main concept and a few key scenes but nothing much.

I had to wait until volume 10's release to mentally think to myself "whoa, the Legacy makes 0 fucking sense" before following it up by a 3-hour mental essay on what I believed the Legacy should be like to be more interesting (not a joke, I didn't get a lot of sleep that night).

And, upon finishing said volume 10, and having that itch of both wanting more and being dissatisfied by Tessia's treatment in the story, that at 11 PM I took a rash decision and started writing, only stopping at 4 AM the next day.

2- My opinion on how it all unfolded

In one word: Pretty well

In a bit more words: I am absolutely baffled by both my own ability to take the few scenes I had imagined and the main concept, and have it sorted into a clear story with proper themes and characters.
I literally went from 14% of the global script to 87% in the blink of an eye, I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't been the one experiencing it.

From this point onward it was pretty much smooth sailing without any major hick-ups, even if I did get slowed down here and there, sometimes because of my school schedule, most often because I was playing Celeste.

As for the reception, I wasn't expecting anything, I thought that nobody would care. But whoa, I was wrong.

I never thought that there would be so many people reading and commenting.

I wouldn't have had such a blast writing this story if it wasn't for every single one of you reading (in a much more literal sense since the stats tell me when the exact number of unique readers, and I get more motivated each time it goes up).
So whether you were here since chapter one or just arrived, thank you! You don't know how much your attention means to me.

Announcements for the future

First, I'll confirm that I have a road map for this fic with all main plot points, character Arcs and the ending figured out.

If everything goes well, the Legacy Of It All will be divided into 4 different volumes of roughly equal size.
I don't plan on stopping any time soon, but I do have a few idea for a couple of one-shots, so you might see that at some point, even if I won't promise anything beyond giving the titles:

-Laments of a God

-22 Short story about Dicathen

Although I have already answered that question a few times already, the first chapter of volume 2 will come out next week, or at the very least, in two weeks.
But, there is part of me that feels like I shoud add an extra chapter during Arthurs stay in Elenoir to flesh out his relation with Tessia, set the themes a bit better and have a smoother transition with the following chapters, so I might do that at some point and I'll make sure to notify you all about it if I do so.
Either way, I hope you are excited for more action, drama, romance and 5D chess maneuvers in The Legacy of It All volume 2: True feelings.

Thanks, and I'll see you later :]

Sincerely Retsag99
