After giving my dad his clothes, I did some research. I've just met 2 of the 3 Jonas Brothers. My sister was obsessed with them when she was younger. We weren't allowed to listen to anything else if she was around. I knew I'd have nothing to do while my dad showered so I told him I'd be back in a few. Eventhough their room was only down the hall, it felt like a 5 mile walk.
That's a whole lot of security. It's okay Lex. Nothing wrong with making some friends with famous people. You can do this.
*knock knock knock*
Kevin smiled as he opened the door. "Lex! You stopped by! Come meet everyone!" He ushered me into the door as I tucked my hair behind my ear. "You had quite a lot of security. Wasn't sure I'd be allowed in." Kevin nodded. "We're a famous band but I told them you might stop by. Have you never heard of us?" I laughed and nodded. "If you count my sister having no wall space because it was covered with posters as not knowing you, then I have no clue who you are." He looked at me shocked. "You acted so normal. I thought you didn't know us." My arms folded and I looked around the room. "I didn't wanna make you uncomfortable. At first I wasn't sure if I was right or not. That would've been super embarrassing." He laughed and pointed to Danielle. "This is my wife, Dani. That over there is Franklin, and the patient himself is, as you know, Nick." I smiled and waved at everyone. "Nice to meet you all." Nick pointed to a seat next to his bed. "Come sit with us. We don't bite."
The conversations flew effortlessly. It felt like I was hanging out with old friends from a past life. They told me about their tour coming up and the plans they had for the rest of the year. I told them about my event planning business and they made me promise I'd come to a show when they're in my city. As the conversation dulled, I looked at my phone and realized I had been with them a lot longer than I anticipated and my dad is probably worried. "I should go. I've gotta at least say good night to my dad before he falls asleep." Kevin walked me to the door and smiled. "We have a small show here in a few weeks. Will we see you there? I haven't seen Dani laugh this hard in a while. I can call and get tickets for you." The thought of saying no raced through my mind but my mouth refused to take this opportunity for granted. "Uhm, yeah. Sure. I'll be there!" The walk to my dads room felt lighter than my trek here. I could hardly continue to call this hospital dreadful. I turned the knob to my dad's room and poked my head in. "Hi dad!" I smiled and handed him some water. "Hi, honey. Your mother called. She's gonna be home tomorrow so you won't have to do this alone." I started adding pieces to his puzzle on the table and hummed to the music coming from the tv. "That's good, dad! I'm glad she will be here with you. But you know helping you has never been a problem for me."

Joe had finally gotten his head clear after a long walk and headed back to Nick's hospital room. He walked past the security with ease and sat down in the chair that once occupied Lex's body. "Welcome back. How was your afternoon?" Nick fist bumped him as he waited for a reply. "It was alright. Went for a walk to clear my head." He took a sip of his water and smiled. "It's a shame. We met a really cool girl. Her name was Liz or something like that." Joe nodded in response. "Sorry I missed her." He wasn't nearly as interested in meeting her as he was in talking to Lex again but he didn't want to sound rude.
