Joe's POV:

I was getting ready for the day when my mind yet again took me back to Lex. It had been a few days since we returned back to our regular lives and I haven't really spoken to her since the night I confronted her about Jarad. She was upset that I looked at her phone and I couldn't blame her. She owed me nothing. She wasn't mine.

*flashback to that night*

Her eyes fluttered as she looked up at me, waiting for my question. I have to be direct. There's no other way to do this. "Who is Jarad?"

Her mouth parted slightly as she looked up at me confused. "Jarad? He is my ex-boyfriend. Why? How do you know about Jarad?" Here comes the part where I confess I was looking at her phone. "Well, I was plugging my phone into my charger and your phone was on it and I had seen a text and I read it and I'm sorry..."

She searched for her phone and read his message for the first time. "This is not what it looks like. He called earlier and I rushed him off the phone so I could watch you perform. I don't have any feelings for Jarad. I just don't understand why it is a concern for someone else to message me and ask me to hang out.." She was right. And my silence didn't help the situation.

*end of flashback*

"Joe! Get up. We have breakfast with the band and then we are headed to the next arena." Nick barged into my room with Kevin right behind him. "I'm ready. Let's go." They could tell I wasn't myself but they didn't press the issue and I was grateful. I know Kevin has been in contact with her but he refuses to tell me how she's doing. He says to ask her myself but I can't bring myself to reach out. Not after invading her privacy.

Lex's POV:

Kevin invited me to his show tonight. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see Joe, even if he isn't speaking to me right now. I mean he owes me nothing. We're just friends. But we've grown so used to each other that I don't know what to do if I'm not showing him the random parts of my day.

"Lex. You have to knock Joe's socks off. You're gonna be backstage before the show right?" I sorted through my clothes and frowned. "This is all regular stuff. "We need something that's gonna make Joe want to kiss you again." I turned my head towards Brooke. "We've never kissed. We're friends." She laughed as she pulled out a black corset from my drawer. "You've never kissed Joe?! What the hell are you waiting for?!"
_____

My sister tied this corset so tight that I'm seeing stars walking towards the dressing rooms. I paired it with some black and white camo cargo pants and my Nike Dunks. Brooke made me  leave my curls out and I settled for a gold chain, watch and a few rings.

"LEX! I'm so glad you're here! I won't be the only girl tonight." Danielle ran over to me, taking in my outfit. "Uhm... you look HOT." My cheeks grew warm and I hugged her tight. "Thanks, Dani. I can't breathe so I'm glad I look cute."

She dragged me to Kevin's dressing room. "The boys are still getting ready but Kev is almost done. Come on."

He held his arms out and smiled wide. "Lex! It's so good to see you! Thank you for coming. My brothers are always late."

"Lex??"

The air shifted as I turned around, following the voice. There he was in all his glory. I watched his body tense. Did he not know I was coming? Was this a mistake?
