Before I could wrap my head around the fact that Joe was in front of me, Nick pulled me to the side with an envelope in his hand. "We are having a party this weekend. Pri and I. For our anniversary, say you'll come? She loves having you around."
I slipped the envelope into my bag and nodded. "I will be in my best dress." I watched as Joe tried to move through the sea of people to come talk to me. "Places, everyone. Time for the show to start." I watched his face become defeated as he positioned himself on the stairs with his brothers. I shrugged and followed Dani to our seats. _______
*the day of the anniversary party*
The plum colored dress I picked out hugged my curves nicely. I slid my gold heels on and took a look at myself in the mirror. If I'm being honest I only picked this dress because I thought Joe would like it. But seeing as we still haven't spoken since the whole Jarad situation, it shouldn't even matter.

My hands slid down my sides as I took a deep breath. "You cannot be upset, Lex. He wasn't your boyfriend and he is clearly fine. You're overreacting." I grabbed my purse and headed to the venue which paired as a five star hotel.
"Lex?! You look gorgeous! Come take photos with us!" Priyanka pulled me into the photo booth with her and Dani. "Thank you for including me." Dani rolled her eyes. "You are our friend. It's so nice having you around." Priyanka pointed across the room. "Joe just arrived. If you are looking for him. I know you guys are close." I shook my head no and stared down at my hands. "Actually, we haven't spoken much these past few weeks. But thank you. I think I'll go grab a drink." My heart was pounding as I walked up to the bar. "What can I get you?" I frowned and scanned the alcohols. "Can I honestly just have a water? I don't drink." He handed me a glass and I turned around bumping right into a set of dark curls. "I am so sorry. Oh my gosh. I should pay attention. Now we're both covered in water." A hand steadied me as I grabbed napkins and looked up. "Don't worry about it, Lex. It's just water." I blushed and dabbed his jacket. "Thank you, Franklin. For being understanding." He held his hand out to me. "Come on. Let's get you cleaned up."
Joe's POV:
"Is that Lex?!" Kevin took a slow sip of his drink as he watched his youngest brother Franklin walk hand in hand with Lex out of the room. "Yeah, and Franklin." He walked away with her with such ease. My insides began to heat as Nick gathered the room for a toast. Luckily I was able to sneak away before he started. I heard him on the way out but I needed to find Lex, "Can I have everyone's attention please?" _______
Lex's POV:
Frankie led me to his hotel room. "You really didn't have to help me. Thank you." He handed me a towel and I dried off my skin before watching him run to the bathroom to grab the hair dryer. "It's no big deal. I wouldn't want you to sit in a wet dress all night." He turned it to cool and held it up before laughing. "Ready?" After using the towel for excess water, I held my arms out and laughed. "This is by far the craziest thing I have ever done. I'm ready."
