Joe's POV:

I heard laughing from Franklin's room that shattered my heart. I know that laugh. I should be the reason for that laugh. I knocked on the door gently and took a deep breath. I heard footsteps approaching and found Franklin in front of me within seconds. He opened the door slightly as if he was hiding Lex from me. "Joe? What's up bro?" I struggled for an excuse to see her. "Uhm.... Nick wants you downstairs. He was looking for you."

He looked back at her, whispering something and slid past me. The door remained open so I snuck my way in, closing it gently behind me. There she was. Sitting down, trying to rebuckle her heels. With her curls in tact and her dress hugging her body perfectly. I cleared my throat, "Hi."

She looked up at me with those beautiful brown eyes. "Hi." I sat down and met her at eye level. "Do you have a minute to talk?" I could see her frustration with her shoe grow on her face. "Sure." I drank in her scent before continuing. "I've missed you. I'm sorry I upset you. I know you're still mad, but I was hoping you would at least save a dance for me tonight?"

She traced circles on my wrist, sending chills down my spine. "I'm not mad at you, Joe. I thought you were mad at me." I motioned for her to place her foot on my knee. My hands glided over her calves, landing on her ankles. "I was never mad at you. If we're being honest, I've been jealous of anyone who gets to be near you." I buckled her shoe for her, not breaking eye contact. Her fingertips gently ran up and down my arms. "I guess I owe you a dance then.." I buckled her other shoe for her and held her hand as she stood up. Her arms snaked around my neck and she closed the distance between us. "I was thinking we could start the dance here."

There we were. Dancing around a hotel room, to no music and yet it was the best song I've ever heard.

"You look beautiful tonight, by the way." My arms hugged her lower back as her hands found my curls. "Thank you. I was hoping you would like this dress." My phone vibrated, making me sigh. I knew it was someone looking for me downstairs. "Sorry, Lex. To be continued?" She smiled and whispered as she walked towards the door. "What is your room number?"
