I already dropped my sister off at the airport and it's only 7:00am. I need a coffee immediately so I headed to the local coffee shop. Through the window you could see the regulars starting their morning, the bell at the top of the door alertting everyone I have arrived. I walked up to the counter and smiled. "Hi, can I just have a black coffee please?" The cashier rang up my coffee and sent my order to the barista. "Your total is gonna be $2.78". I nodded and reached for my wallet as I felt a hand on my back. "Make it two black coffees and I've got both." I looked over my shoulder to find a lucious set of curls. "Nick, you don't have to do that." He rolled his eyes. "It's $3.00. I got it. Don't worry about it. Would you like to sit?" I shrugged my shoulders and followed his lead. "Sure." He smiled. "Joe introduced me to this place. I'm supposed to meet him here. I'm early I suppose." I laughed and sipped the hot coffee. The caffeine going straight to my veins gave my skin its color back. "Nothing wrong with being early. It won me a free coffee." We laughed in sync, his hands firmly wrapped around his cup. "Lex, have you met Joe yet?" I nodded. "Briefly. I grabbed his smoothie by accident one day. But that's it." His face displayed shock, remembering the story Joe had told him a few days ago. "You should hang out with all of us tonight." My eyebrow raised as I took another sip of coffee. "Are you sure about that?" Nicks famous smirk took over his face. "Of course. What's your number? I'll text you the address."

"Brooke. I don't know why you're freaking out. It's just hanging out."

My phone was slowly being covered by shirts and pants, my sisters voice becoming more and more muffled. "Because it's the Jonas Brothers!!! FaceTime me right now. I need to see the look."

I rolled my eyes and propped my phone up on my desk, adding video to my screen. "Ahhh!!! You look so cute." I crossed my arms and laughed. "It's a white crop top and jean skirt with checkered vans."
I could tell my sister was becoming more and more frustrated at my lack of excitement. "It's cute! Wear your hair down. Your curls look amazing today." I nodded and tucked them behind my ear. "Yes, mom."

Okay. No big deal. This is just like when you hung out with them for the first time in Nick's hospital room.

*ding dong*

The door to Nick's giant home swung open. "Lex! You made it! Come in. My brothers aren't here yet. But Pri is in the kitchen."
I walked in and examined the home, nearly collapsing at its beauty. "Your home is gorgeous." He tipped his glass of Villa One at me. "Thank you. Would you like a drink?" I held my hand up. "No thank you. I don't drink much." Priyanka wrapped her arm around my shoulders. "That's so refreshing. I love that."
Kevin showed up not too long after me with Dani on his arm. We said our hellos and everyone got comfortable in the living room. The door bell yet again rang well into our time together. By process of elimination it could either be Franklin or Joe. Or maybe Nick invited other people? I crossed one leg over the other as I heard the door click open. "Joe! What's up man? Welcome to the party. We've got a special guest tonight." Is Nick talking about me? I'm a special guest? I'm just me. Their voices got louder as they rounded the corner. "Hey. Sorry I'm late. I was trying to find——" His whole focus shifted onto me. "...Lex..."
