alessia russo - bad period

The intense pain in my stomach was what woke me up early this morning . I rolled over from facing alessia to look at the alarm clock on the bedside table . 2:30AM is which the clock read , I had many hours to wait until the alarm was set to go off which was great for me .
I slowly rolled myself out of bed and once i had stood up was when it clocked where the sudden pain was coming from . Over night i had come onto my period .
I wasn't a stranger to having painful period , i mean ever since i was teenager i had struggled with bad pain from them but i just got brought up that it was normal so i just thought nothing of it and carried on with my life .

The few steps to the bathroom felt like miles , as soon as i reached the bathroom i collapsed onto the bathroom floor . I knew that i just had to build up some courage to drag myself off the floor and reach for my pain killers which were in the bathroom cabinet . Gripping onto the sink with my whole life i pulled myself , steadying myself before searching through the bathroom cabinet for the tablets . Once i had grabbed them i found my place back on the stone cold floor .  That is how i spent the rest of my night , lying on the stone cold floor not so much sleeping just waiting for the time to pass so that alessia's alarm would go off .

As soon as i heard the ring from her phone i once again pulled myself off the floor and slowly dragged myself down the stairs and onto the sofa . I wanted to go to training today and i knew that if alessia was to find out about it she would go all girlfriend protective and force me to stay home which i didn't want to happen .
Just as alessia came down the stairs i quickly popped two more of the tablets in my mouth to try and get me through this morning .
" morning babe " alessia says whilst wrapping her hands around my waist . I winced as she put a bit too much pressure onto my stomach and i am pretty sure she had noticed but anyway she didn't notice .
" do you want me to make some breakfast for you , i've already eaten " i said , lying about the last bit but oh well i was not in any way alright to be stomaching anything .

We silently drive to the training ground which was very unusual for the pair of us . Usually we would always be chatting each others head off our blasting music out of the speakers however today it just silent .
Once we pulled up at the training ground we were still yet to speak a word to eachother . I am assuming that it is because she had sensed that i wasn't in the mood and i loved the fact she was just able to read me like that .
" morning y/n and less " beth said as me and alessia walk through the set of double doors .
Alessia replied with the same cheery voice where as i just replied with a simple nod and a simple smile .

During training it was starting to become a bit more obvious that something was up with me , it had been a fair few hours since i had taken some pain killers and it was beginning to show .
The way i was playing was horrendous ; all my passes were sloppy ; all of my shots were off target . My head just was not in the game today and it was pretty obvious.
I could tell that the girls had noticed aswell by the way i heard them speaking about me behind my back to alessia , asking her if something was up with me but she was just as clueless as everyone else .

It was just by luck that when we were playing a small five aside game a strong ball came heading straight at me . And ofcourse out of anywhere that it could possibly hit it had to hit by stomach. 
As the fast flying ball through the air and hit me in the stomach i doubled over in pain , the sudden pain tipping me over the edge .
After lying on the floor for a couple minutes i had finally managed to drag myself on the grass and back onto my feet .
I could tell that most of the girls were concerned of the state of me , i mean usually it would take a lot more than a ball in the stomach to knock me down but today was different.

For the rest of training i was even worse than what i was before the little accident , now the pain was unbearable that every few minutes i was have to bend over to clutch my stomach . It seemed like it was the only thing that was stopping the pain .
This clearly made it obvious to the rest of the team that i was in pain , even jonas noticed this when he forced me to sit on the sidelines because to him it was deemed ' to unwell to be playing ' .
So for the few last mini games i found myself a comfy spot of the sidelines and i'm not going to lie i was very happy with the fact i was made to sit out on these last few games .

There was only one more match left , the final between the best two teams of the day . Neither of them were alessia's team meaning i was now to be bombarded by questions from her .
" so what is up with you today because i know full well that on a usual day something like this would not hurt you so much " alessia says whilst pulling me into a gentle hug .
I sigh before i reply back to her , knowing the fact the she knew something was up with me and now i could really do with some help .
" it's just this morning , i came on my yk and the ball hitting my stomach was just the icing on the cake " i say feeling as if a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.
" oh y/n/n come on let's go home , i will just explain to jonas quickly and then we will get you off home , just wait here a second " alessia says softly .
I did as she said , waiting in that exact position until she came back to whisk us off home .

She most definitely kept her promise , as soon as we were through the doors a bath was running along with a hot chocolate and candle . And for afterwards she set up some nice comfy pj's and hot water bottle all ready for me as soon as i was ready to come out of the bath .
I would be forever grateful for the way alessia looks after and helps me in these moments, i honestly would not know what i would do if she wasn't there for me when i needed her .
