A Careless Soul // ghost x reader

A Small Reward.

The next morning I woke up in the cell. That sunshine beaming from the bars to my eyes as I wake up. The guards walk to my cell and gave me food, I didn't eat it though.. I sat in my cell for a few hours till I heard the key click and the door opened. It was Ghost.. And Soap, Soap looked at me up and down with a straight face.. But at the same time he looked a bit bothered. "Hi ace.." Soap spoke. "John." I say.

Soap glared at me. "It's Soap." He said getting a little angry. Ghost face palmed. "You're doing good so far ace. Don't ruin it for yourself." Ghost said. "Now for what we're here for. You know the drill, Start talking."He said. I told them very few things and after I spoke they'd always leave to check if I was correct and if I wasn't lying. This continued for days.. I hadn't been out the cell in a while..

Soon.. Days turn into weeks and weeks turned into 2 months of interrogations and questioning. It was a new day and I thought about how Phoenix and the others still hadn't come for me. I didn't think about it too much.. As I erased my head from those thoughts as I got up from my bed as Price soon walked into my cell. "Alright Ace, we're letting you outside near the gates for a bit." Price said, "Consider this as one of your rewards." He continued to say. He stepped out of my cell as we both walked out to the entrance . Gaz and Ghost were there, they both had guns. "While your here we will set ground rules.. See those soldiers there at the entrance gates? " Ghost said as he pointed to the other soldiers. "They shoot you down if you try to escape got it?" Ghost said. I nodded and slowly walked out. The bright sun shined on my eyes. I slowly walked outside and sat down onto the grass.. I stared at the trees and flowers outside.

"Thought she'd be running around like an animal." Ghost said. "I mean.. She's pretty detached and unexpressive. So don't expect much from her." Gaz saids to ghost with a calm  tone.Ghost nods in agreement, "Why don't we get to know her?" Gaz saids. "No. She's still the enemy." Ghost said. Gaz stays silent after what he said, but he's still curious so he walks up in ace anyone. "Hello.. Ace." Gaz saids and Y/N looks up at him. (Reminder: Ace is Y/N's code name.)  "hi.." I say as I look up at him... "Since you'll be here for a while, why don't we get to know each other?" Gaz said. I nodded "..okay." I mumble. "

So.. I'm Gaz.. And you are?" He saids. "Can't give you my name that easily.. I'll tell you other things though.." I say in a cool voice.  "Hmm.. Understood. " He saids with a bright smile. Ghost both watch us quietly, watching my every move. "So.. how old are you?" Gaz asked. "..26." I said. "Oh cool! I'm 25! Turning 26 in a few days actually.. And ghost is 27! " he saids. Gaz had seemed to remind me of Aries and Jaxx. He was a nervous person but also had a golden retriever personality..I stop my thoughts and nodded. "When did you enlist ?" Gaz asked.. "When I was 18, right after graduation." I responded. "Same!" He replied. "We seem to have quite a bit in common!" He saids. "..something like that." I say, we continued to talk for a little while until Gaz asks a certain question that made me go a bit silent. "Any hobbies?" Gaz said.. I was silent for a moment..  "no." I said. Gaz looked surprised. "No hobbies? You're the first person I've even seen with no hobbies!" Gaz said.

"I just guess I never felt .. a liking towards anything." I said. Gaz nodded "understood.." he said calmly. I looked up at the sky to see the sun about to start setting. Gaz looked up aswell. We were silent for a few minutes until Ghost spoke up behind us. "Alright. Times almost up." Ghost said. I turned my head to Ghost "..Can we go somewhere where we can see the sun set?.."I asked, Both Gaz and Ghost seemed a bit surprised to hear my question. Ghost sighed and nodded "Shouldn't hurt. Come on."Ghost said as he walked back inside. I followed ghost as Gaz walked behind me. Ghost led us up some stairs that headed towards the roof of the base.  He opened the door towards the roof.

As we both all went up on the roof I walked near the edge of the roof ghost immediately grabbed my arm. "What do you think you're doing?" Ghost said sternly. "I-i'm.. just going to sit down.."I replied . Ghost sighed and let go as I sat down on the edge. Gaz walked over and stood next the Ghost. "I'm surprised you allowed her here." Gaz said. "She seems.. different I'd say." Ghost replies. Gaz raises his eyebrows, he has a playful smirk. "Different you sayy?" Gaz saids in a playful way. Ghost looks at him confused for a few seconds but then realizes and gives him a glare. "Fuck no. That is the damn enemy." He saids looking at him with a mean glare. Gaz and rolls his eyes.

"But honestly all jokes aside, I hope she eventually ends up on our side." Gaz saids with a calm face looking at y/n, Ghost nods. As they continue to talk I look up at the sky seeing the colors of Blue, Purple, Pink and Orange.. At this moment my mind clears. I stay quiet .. trying to let this moment last.. "Since we're already over your curfew we'll join in." Gaz said to me, I turned around to him slight nodding. "I didn't want to agree to this." Ghost said face palming. "That's cause I forced you to." Gaz said. I payed no mind to what the both of them just said and continued to stare at the sky.

All three of us sat on the edge of the rooftop watching the sunset quietly..In this moment, we weren't enemies.. we were just three strangers who just needed to build trust and get to know each other.
