Merlin's POV

I had taken up stairs. I convinced The Doctor to do that after a while. At first he wanted to go upstairs but I would be fine on my own. He should know that.

I reached the upstairs landing and looked around but I could no longer sense anything here which is quite odd. It was here a second ago.

Its quite dark in here. I whisper a spell and a ball of light shines bright in front of me. It looks like it hasn't been touched in here for a long time. Maybe nothing is here but why had I felt it before?

Just as I thought about maybe going to find the Doctor or maybe search a room I saw something near the far end of the corridor. "Who is there?" I ask. Maybe that wasn't the smartest thing to say but I've never done this before. Its all new but I am enjoying it.

Going into the unknown has never felt so good. I'm use to protecting Arthur, always watching him and serving him. Even if it still don't feel right being away from him it does feel good to not be doing that. Doing what I want with the Doctor and feeling so free and alive.

Maybe my own life is at risk but I couldn't really care right now. I walked down the corridor the ball of light showing the way until I reached the end and pushed open the door which was slightly ajar.

As I got inside the door slammed and my ball of light vanished. That's never happened before. I try to get the light back but I couldn't. I try open the door but its locked. What's going on?

"Its about time, Merlin. I thought I would be waiting ages for you," whispered a voice.

"Who are you? How do you know my name?" I ask.

"I thought you may ask that. I'm not in my time but neither are you. You felt magic because I have magic. That is what brought you here. What brought the Tardis and The Doctor is downstairs. Maybe he has already found it, if so he probably dead," he laughs.

"What you talking about?" I ask confused.

"Like it matters. Look I am not in my time, I left my time in hope for bigger and better things. I found what I want and need. I need blood, I need death and I need trouble. That's who I am. You stand in my way if you or the Doctor destroys the one that saved me. I know who you are Merlin because you stopped me once before but your a younger version. If you die here, then you would never stop me there. Its simple basics really," he laughs.

"Enough of this. I have to leave to save the Doctor if you like it or not," I tell him.

"You won't be able to stop me. You may be the most powerful Warlock in the world but not yet. Not right now, I can stop you in this weaker form," he said before I felt something ram up against me.

I got forced right against the wall knocking the wind out of me. "I can stop you," he whispers.

"Try me," I hiss before I push him off me as I had got more use to the darkness and summoned my magic up inside me it rising to the surface.

I chucked a spell in the direction I had pushed him off me but I wasn't quick enough he had managed to get around me and he grabbed me from behind me. "No way can you defeat me, I won't allow it again," he said as he rammed me against the table and chucked me to the ground.

I felt suddenly dizzy as my head had contacted the wooden floor below us. I heard a crash from below. The Doctor! I hope he is alright.

The Doctor's POV

When I had left Merlin to go upstairs, I felt worried. I mean he is the greatest Warlock ever to be known. What if I get him killed? Bringing him is the most dangerous thing I can do but here I am still doing it and letting him wonder off on his own.

Once I had searched part of downstairs I was even more worried but now not so much. Not now my Screw driver can sense Alien activity nearby, up in the room in front of me. I slowly take each step until I reach the door.

I push open the door but the door creaks and I hear this loud screaming and moaning sound. I rushed inside just in time to see a huge cyclops speed towards me. This is not good!. I run across the room it ramming its head into the wall missing me by inches. How am I going to stop this?

Just as I turn to see if it was charging towards me again, I catch it as it falls to the ground green blood leaking onto the floor. "It would have never been able to stop killing. We must not waste time, lets go," she smiled.

"River?

"Hello Sweetie, now lets go," she smiles.

"We can't. Merlin," I whisper.

"Merlin? Merlin as in Warlock the greatest Warlock ever known magic?"

"Yes, you can kill me later but for now we must find him. He is up stairs," I tell her worried.

"Looks like I got two men to save. If he is a man?" she asked.

"Yes he is of age and everything," I tell her.

"One upside I guess. Not white beard?" she asks as we rush from the room.

"No, not at all," I laugh.

"Interesting, all the companions you had. Merlin is defiantly an interesting one sweetie."

"He is brave and powerful. He has magic," I begin to explain.

"So magic was real back in that time? Strange what you learned, I always thought that time was never to be entered."

"Me too but my Tardis took me there, alien invasion there sorted it all out of course," I say.

"And bringing Merlin along in time was an accident too right?"

"Not so much, I'm sorry River. I need him, he needs me right now," I tell her.

"I know, Amy and Rory. I miss them too. They are parents after all," River says.

"I know, so what brings you here?"

"A lot of things, but hey more chat later. We have Merlin to save!"
