Merlin’s POV
I sat up in bed eating some food as the Doctor sat next to me. I can tell he wants to leave and figure out where this alien had come from but for some reason he keeps saying he wants to stay by my side.
“You don’t have to sit here with me,” I explained to him.
“I want to,” he smiled at me.
“What if it comes back? Arthur will kill it,” I said.
“I know but I want to make sure you are alright,” the Doctor said.
“You go. Gaius is looking after me,” I said softly to him. The Doctor looked at me and nodded. He got to his feet and went over to the door.
“I’ll get Gaius to sit with you,” said the Doctor.
“Why?” I asked. He ignored my question like he was thinking and left the chamber. I hate sitting in bed doing nothing but I can’t do anything right now as I can’t walk with my ankle and my ribs are killing me.
I sighed with annoyance. A little while later Arthur came into the chamber. “Gaius asked me to keep an eye on you for a little while,” said Arthur.
“Why?” I asked.
“As he has to go do his rounds,” Arthur explained.
“I am fine to sit here on my own,” I complained.
“Like I care what you think,” said Arthur as he sat down in the chair next to my bed.
“Haven’t you got your duties to,” I began.
“I have done most of them for today. My father isn’t to know that I am sitting here, how can he know. Besides I wanted to see how you are doing,” said Arthur.
“I’m fine,” I said simply.
“I still can’t believe how much of an idiot you are. If you were not such an idiot you would still be doing your chores,” said Arthur.
“Do you think I wanted this? I hate sitting around doing nothing.”
“Oh really?” Arthur asked. I ignored him. I’m not up for bantering with him right now. Arthur looked at me weirdly.
“What is your problem?”
“Nothing, I’m just annoyed that’s all,” I said quietly.
---------------------------------------
“I’ve figured it out...oh Arthur,” said the Doctor as he came charging into my room.
“What have you figured out?”Arthur asked.
“A better way to get your cleaning done faster isn’t that right,” I quickly said.
“Yes exactly what I was going to say,” said the Doctor grinning over at me.
“I’ve got to go now,” said Arthur as he got up and left the chamber. Once he was gone the Doctor sat on the chair.
“What did you actually figure out?” I asked him.
“This alien got here through a space ship,” said the Doctor.
“A what?” I questioned him.
“It’s like a horse carriage apart from it flies in the sky. Anyway they must have transferred the creature to the wrong time. I just need to get in contact with whoever sent it here and get them to take it back,” smiled the Doctor.
“And how are you to do that?” I asked him.
“My Tardis,” the Doctor said grinning ear to ear.
“You are actually enjoying this aren’t you,” I said to him.
“What’s not to enjoy. Apart from you getting hurt but never mind you are to live. Would you like to see inside my Tardis,” the Doctor asked me.
“I can’t walk,” I said to him.
“No need. I’ll be back shortly and try not to get into trouble,” the Doctor said.
“Who me,” I laughed.
He left me within my chamber after that. I noticed it had begun to get dark. I hope he doesn’t take too long. I found my eyes closing and I fell asleep. I woke from a loud thud.
“Merlin!” I heard Gaius shout. I opened my eyes to find Gaius right up against the wall beside me and I looked forward to find the alien in front of me. He had destroyed the wall and door between my room and the main part of the chamber. My room looked wrecked too, near enough.
I had no idea what to do but then the creature did something weird. He knelt down in front of me looking directly into my eyes. “Mummy," it whispered to me. My mouth fell open in shock. What did it just say?
It picked me up from the bed and squeezed me but this time not that tightly as before but it still hurt me. I cried out in pain and it put me back down looking at me. “I’m sorry,” it whispered
I looked over at Gaius and he looked like he was about to burst out laughing. I just looked at the alien in shock having no clue, what to say or do. Then a sound began to happen close by and not long later Doctor’s Tardis as he calls it appeared beside my bed.
The Doctor stepped out. “What is happening here? The alien... how amazing you look,” said the Doctor.
“He my mummy,” whispered the alien as he picked me up again. I held in the pain.
“We understand now put him down he is hurt,” the Doctor explained. The alien did as he was told.
“Why does he think I am his mummy,” I asked the Doctor.
“You are worthy and he knows you will look after him. I knew it,” he grinned at me.
“You have got to be kidding me and what do you mean you knew,” I said.
“As soon as he spared you I thought he would think you are his mum. That is the reason why you are not dead,” explained the Doctor.
“What are we to do?” I asked him.
“Until I can get him back to where he be long’s you will have to look after him and be his mum,” said the Doctor as Gaius began to laugh.
“This is not funny. I have no idea how to be a mum,” I complained.
“You soon will,” laughed Gaius.
