Chapter 17: Ky and Ella-Part 2

The shadow creature began clawing at Kylario's sword, however he blocked it multiple times before getting pushed back. He reacted quickly and parried 2 other tentacles coming straight towards him.
Ky was sure he could defeat the shadowy creature, however he could never get close. It was just too good at defending, and it could also turn invisible. Ky believed if him and Ella teamed up, they would be able to defeat the shadow creature, but she was being attacked by other zombies, making her unable to help. Her ice powers depended on how much life force she put into the shard, and her energy released the power. It would be possible for her to release a large burst of ice to freeze all the nearby enemies, but it would waste all her energy and life force, making her immobilized, so it wasn't worth it. Instead, she used one of her techniques she called ice shot, where she had to use her spit and turn into ice, and when she spits it out it can pierce through the zombies hearts.
"Ella, I have an idea!" Ky yelled to her.
"Im listening!" She replied, constantly spitting ice at enemies. "Use a large ice attack right now!" He said. She listened and used an ability that released a ton of ice spikes around her, piercing through the enemies. Many of them died, but a few of them, including the shadow like creature, survived and began running straight at Ella. This made all the zombies that were on Ky forget about him, so he took the opportunity and sent a ton of shurikens at the area. It killed all the zombies other than the shadow one, but it clearly injured. It turned invisible and tried running away, so instead of chasing it down, Ky and Ella left it be as it was clearly going to die soon.

They started walking to the city again, wondering what was to come next, other than fighting zombies. The idea of facing more foes undoubtedly seemed boring to them, like flipping through TV channels trying to find something to watch. Theres a chance they'd find a new type of enemy to defeat, but theres also a chance they'd have to keep dealing with the same ones over and over. Ella broke the silence between them while they were walking, asking what Ky does for a living.
"Oh, well I'm a samurai from around here. We basically protect the area from different threats and work a lot with the police force, so I know people like the captain and some other members." He replied. "Oh, i've always wanted to be part of the police force—I mean like, everyone does obviously, but they never realize how fucking cool it would be!" She yelled. Ky was surprised at the language, he had never actually heard vulgar language before other than during missions where they had to stop gang members, which rarely involves a few drunken deadbeats here and there. He was curious about the word she had said though, so he asked about it.
"Excuse me, but what does the word, "fucking" mean?" He asked. "I don't even know myself, I just use it because my other friends use it. It's a pretty cool word but one time I used it in front of my mom, and she grounded me for a day. When did grounding people even become a thing in the first place? Thats stupid. Either way, yeah I don't know what it means, we should ask that guy walking over there!" She screamed. Ky noticed that she liked to talk quite a lot, and also that she was pretty low in intelligence. Ky looked at the person walking, and saw that it was an old man who lived in the nearby neighborhood. They ran to him.
"Sir, are you alright?" Ky asked.
"Oh yes, i'm feeling fine, thank you. Im just really clueless about everything going on at the moment. So many people just disappeared over the day, so now I'm worried. When I'm worried, I like to take walks, and when I did, I saw a giant creature eating buildings. What chaos has happened while I was away?" The man said. This freaked out Ky much more, believing that the demon had gotten even bigger and then had to go to the city and help. "Stay away from the city sir, I will call a police force member to help evacuate you. It's a nation wide hazard at the moment." He said.
"Dude, really quick could you tell us what f-" Ky covered Ellas mouth immediately, grasping what she was about to say in a blink of an eye.

They began running down to the city and were afraid of what was going on in there. Buildings could be seen smoking and on fire, while others were crumbled to the ground. They kept running and were into the beginning of the city, until they found a few police force members, including the captain, planning something. The police captain, Chase, looked behind him, and yelled at Kylario and Ella to come over to where he was standing.
"What are you two doing here? Have you heard about the evacuation?" The captain, Chase, said. "Sir, we aren't regular civilians. We are able to hold on own within these battlefields against the zombies appearing out of nowhere." Ky responded. "You're a samurai, aren't you. We've worked with many of your people, but i've never seen you before." Chase said. "Whats up with that?"
Ky was confused with the phrase Chase just said, as he wasn't used to the normal wordings at this point in time. He just looked at Chase, with a very confused facial expression.
"Wait a minute, you're Kylario Embers! The guy I used to train with back when I was in that orphanage!" Chase shouted. "I honestly did not expect to meet an old friend in the middle of the battlefield. Gives me some hope." Ky replied. They both then shook hands and smiled at each other, showing their appreciation and happiness about meeting up again.
A while back, when Ky was still a child and was very rebellious, he would sneak out and explore his surroundings, looking at the technology he was not granted. He eventually met Chase at an orphanage he walked through, and they became friends after just a few days. They would train with each other on a daily basis until Chase was moved into the police force training unit. They never saw each other again, sadly, until now. Chase asked if he wanted to join in on the plan to fight against the zombies that have ransacked and invaded the city. Ky of course agreed and readied his weapons, feeling extremely energetic, to the point where he forgot he was with Ella.
"Do you wanna help too Ella?" Ky asked.
"Of course I do, I'm here to find my brothers first of all." She answered. In truth, Ella felt left out and sad due to loosing her brothers, and not being able to do her favorite thing in a while, which was talking. The expression on her face made it obvious that she was feeling these emotions, so Ky decided it would be best to cheer her up.
"Ella, don't worry. We will find your brothers eventually, I promise that on my life. If we don't, you always have me to keep you company." Ky said in a soft tone. Ella smiled cheerfully and they began catching up with the police force members who were ahead of them.

"Alright everyone, get into your groups. We need to start now, the current situation with the scientists making the nuke is not fully understood." Chase stated to the other police force members with him. They then split into their groups and headed out, while Chase, Ella, and Kylario stayed behind. Chase then rushed to the north and signaled for the other two to follow him. They hesitated and looked at each other but just decided to follow him.
"I have some business I want to take care of before we start making a genuine move on the demon. So far the military has been able to distract it for quite some time with their planes and bombs, however it's becoming futile as the demon gets bigger the more life force it absorbs around the area." Chase said as they ran side by side. "How do you know what the demon absorbs?" Ky asked. "Luckily, the military scanned the demon before they got into that huge truffle during civilian evacuation, and now we have a lot of information on it to use. We know now that it absorbs life force to gain more strength and grow in size." Chase answered. "Also, we're getting close to the stuff I had to deal with, so just follow me."
Chase entered a nearby building and went up flight by flight until he was on the roof, which wasn't that high up compared tk the other nearby buildings. Just then, Chase, Ky, and Ella saw the group of teenagers being talked to by police. They not long after drove away and called someone else to deal with them.
"Those are my brothers! I need to go down there!" Ella whispered loudly.
"Not yet, I hear a police van coming up. They are trying to take them to the bunkers nearby the city, but I don't want them to go. Flare, the male flame down there, is the son of Mystin Ash, the man who was about to become the police captain before me, when I was very young. James, the only Woodling down there is very powerful for how old he is. Everyone else also has special attributes like your brothers, with their insanely high IQ." Chase said.

The police officers who came in started staring at the teenagers, realizing they would have to take a very long drive out of the city in order to get them to the bunkers.
"Watch this." Chase said. He started to use the collectors crystal to manipulate the minds of everyone down there. Chase manipulated their minds so that the police would leave because they realized that it was Flare Ash, and so the teenagers could think they are leaving because of Flare. Once the police left, they jumped down.
