5th of June, 2015

After being stuck next to a 5 year old for 3 hours -which was suprisingly less torturing than I thought- we landed in sunny Seattle.

A little too sunny for my liking.

Once we collected our bags we got into a taxi as Mum gives me the rundown on how things work on the tour; most of what she was saying went in one ear and out the other though.

"Oh, and all the staff tour buses are full with crew so you'll have to go in the band's bus." Mum threw into the conversation casually.

I look at her like a deer in headlights, clearly not happy with the arrangements but tried to hide it.
"I've got to be on their bus?" I clarified.

"Yeah but I'm sure you make friends with them or something, they're your age." She shrugged and looked out the window.

Make friends with them?

In the kindest way possible I couldn't give two shits if we're close in age.

"Are you sure there's no room at all?" I asked and she shook her head.

Well I'm in for a very fun 7 months.

Guess I got jinxed after all.

I lean my head against the headrest and stare at the ceiling of the taxi while my mum tries to start a conversation with the driver, who by this point just wants us out of his car. A little while later we got to our hotel and collected our room keys.

I was informed all of the crew and the band are on the same floor in all the hotels we'd go to. I collapsed on my bed as soon as I got to my room, then came to the realisation that what I was wearing was not appropriate for the weather. I dug around my suitcase for a while and eventually pulled out a white t-shirt and jeans shorts.

I was given 2 hours to do whatever before we had to go up to the stadium; after an hour I got bored by myself and decided to pay Mum a visit, having to message her first as I didn't know where her room was. Half an hour before we were meant to leave some of the other crew members joined us; Two security guards, light technician and an electrician who I later learned were called Zach, Caroline, Micah and Connor. They greeted my mother then me like they've known me their whole life and sat down on the couch opposite us.

Caroline started our conversation by saying how the band were meant to have arrived in Seattle hours ago but got held up in London. That just sparked Mum's love for getting in people's business and theorising.

She immediately started stirring theories as to why they stayed back, so I said it was probably a broken down car or something to refrain her from turning herself into a detective. After my mother finished concocting stories we left the hotel around 2pm and got driven to the stadium by Connor.

The stadium wasn't far from our hotel and only took 10 minutes to get there. Once we were out of the car in the parking lot, I notice there's only 2 other cars around. Zach and Caroline went off to the stage and Micah and Connor went to the lighting room while me and Mum went into the band's communal dressing room.

It was a large room with multiple couches and a large mirror with an empty shelf just below it. Sat infront of it was a chair that looked like one a director would sit in. There was a door on the other side of the room which I assumed was a bathroom and in the middle of the room was a coffee table. Full length mirrors were perched in a few spots around the room as well.

While I was busy looking around the room, Mum was opening a cupboard in the corner and sighed as she closed it.
"Are you okay to stay here while I run back to the hotel quickly?" She asked me.
