Recently, Niall has been inviting me out on a lot of nights out lately.
But specifically at night and not during the day, and I don't blame him. If I were a well known celebrity I wouldn't willingly go into busy town squares in broad daylight either.
Niall said dress casual, but Kaitlyn decided to pay me a visit and asked what I was getting ready for. I panicked and had to think fast, the first thing coming to mind being "Someone from my highschool is in town and wanted to meet up".
Kaitlyn's response was "I was brainwashed in a box and even I know better than to meet up with someone you used to know in tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie."
I personally thought it was fine, but Kaitlyn was fully against it and made me her "project" for the next half-hour.
She specifically chose the black dress I wore out ages ago but was forced to pair it with my Converse since I hadn't packed any other shoes.
I never thought I would be very close with Kaitlyn, but I'm being proven wrong as she's making a half-up half-down style out of my hair and putting the 'up' half into a bun. She dug through her make-up bag and pulled out two lipstick shades.
One was a dark red, almost maroon but not quite, the other a soft pink like those really softly coloured roses in bridal bouquets.
"Which one do you want?" She held them out for me to make my decision but I already decided.
"The pink,"
Kaitlyn put the red back into her back, clearly wanting to have used it instead.
She applied the lipstick to my lips, leaving a sticky-tacky feeling on them.
"Do you have a jacket? One that you could wear over your dress?" Kaitlyn asked, putting her things back into her bag.
"No, I don't think I brought any." I shrug and stand up, walking over to my bedside table where I kept my jewellery. I put on a few bracelets and my necklace which sat perfectly above the neckline of the dress.
"I recommend you find one then because it's cold tonight. Oh! I think Niall might let you borrow his jacket. He isn't going anywhere tonight, is he?"
Oh, that's ironic.
"Um, no; I don't think so. I'll pop by his room on my way out. Thanks."
Kaitlyn nodded, opening the door. "See you."
Niall's room is 435, so I headed there after gathering my stuff.
"Was I talking to someone else when I said 'dress casual'?" Niall asked when he opened the door.
"Nope- But Kaitlyn randomly decided to visit my room and asked why I was getting ready so I had to lie and say I was meeting someone from my high school," I started explaining.
"You grew up in Colorado, we're in Missouri."
"Yeah I know that but Kaitlyn doesn't. Minor white lie. Anyway, she claimed that tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie wasn't something you'd wear to meet an old friend. I wasn't bothered to argue so I kind of let her do her thing." I finished as Niall nodded.
"You're going to be freezing,"
"I know. That's why I'm borrowing your jacket."
Niall didn't argue, only moving the door to access the hooks on the back of it. He pulled off his leather jacket and handed it to me.
"Let's get going."
