The group, with heavy hearts, set out once more back to the castle, fearing the worst. Sasha had decided to come along, wanting to help in any way she could. She trekked at the back of the group most of the time on your horse.

With little sleep the group quickly found where the battle was being held. In a large open field, just outside the castle, was an enormous group of soldiers fighting head on with each other. Flames erupted from the castle towers, and screams from nearby villages disrupted the usual peaceful silence. Swords clashed against each other in a painful screech of metal, and bodies had already begun to pile. The five didn't have time to watch and take it all in, they had to help.

"Protect the king!" Zander roared, charging his horse straight into battle. The others followed, once reaching the line of battle they dismounted their horses, swords at the ready, and began to fight with all the energy they could muster. They split up into separate fights, with Jaksa staying close to Zander, while Sasha locked swords with a tall soldier. Kass immediately began searching for Sophia, spotting her further in the crowd he pushed his way toward her. Thomas, who was just behind him, was slashing off soldiers who tried to hurt Kass.

The prince Zander, the boy who had dreamed of getting away from the palace since he was young, now fighting to protect it with every ounce of his soul. He was getting battered, knocked around and pushed by the mass amount of bodies that surrounded him. He was incredibly exhausted, but he refused to give up. Not for anything.

Kass and Sophia had stood back to back, fighting off the soldiers that came their way with the little practice they had. It was clear however, that a lot of the soldiers were just like them. Merely servants who had sworn allegiance to the king, and thrown themselves into battle. They believed they were doing good, until a sharp scream from Sophia caused Kass to jump around. "Soph!?" he yelped, his heart sinking to his knees when he saw the dagger in her side. He gripped onto her arms, stopping her from falling over no. "no no no no.." he pleaded. "Soph, you can't leave me!" he screamed, his words falling on deaf ears. She let out a shuddering breath. "At least I died more than just a servant.." she sighed, her face growing pale and her arms falling limp.
