Hope washed the dirt and blood from her hands. She took a deep breath while recalling the mission Alaric sent her on. It was frustrating dealing with him sometimes.

"Hello there."

She froze and turned around. Dante gave her a warm smile.

"Who the hell are you," Hope asked, narrowing her eyes at him.

"A friend of your father's," Dante answered.

"You are a friend of Klaus," Hope scoffed.

"Of course not. I'm talking about your real father," Dante corrected, smothering a laugh of mockery at Klaus's name.

"Real father? What do you mean real father?"

"Hope, do you have a minute," Alaric asked, cracking her door open.

Hope tensed, knowing he'd be able to see Dante from his angle. She was prepared to fight the stranger to save Alaric. But he seemed to look right past him.

"Did you hire someone else into the school," Hope asked, assuming he wasn't concerned because he knew Dante.

"What? No. Why," Alaric asked, confusion heard in his voice.

"You don't see him," Hope asked, pointing at Dante.

"No one can see me but you. It's one of the perks of being the child of the devil," Dante explained.

"The devil," Hope repeated, doubt crossing her face.

"I can see you're having a moment, so I'll leave," Alaric said, slowly backing out of the room.

Dante chuckled lightly at his uneasiness. Humans were quite the odd creatures. He tensed as Hope slammed him against the wall by his neck. Her hand squeezed around his throat threateningly.

A smirk rested on his lips, knowing he could take her down if needed. But orders are orders, and he was ordered to not harm the children.

"Who the hell are you," Hope repeated, getting impatient with him.

"Let me open your eyes and remind you," Dante said, placing his thumb on her forehead.

Hope gasped sharply as she recalled everything from her past. All the memories that she was forced to forget were recalled. Including her pleading with Lucifer to spare Klaus's life.

"Dante..."

"Hello, Princess," Dante greeted once more.

She hugged him tightly, causing another smile to appear on his face. He wrapped his arms around her, holding the Tribrid.

"I've missed you," Hope said softly, "Is everything okay? How's Klaus?"

"He's okay. Klaus is still in hiding with Elijah. We made a promise to you, Hope. You will not lose another parent," Dante reassured.

"Dad called for me?"

"He wanted to awaken his children," Dante explained, "He's been watching you all from a distance."

"My siblings? Are Stiles and Talia okay?"

"They are scattered among the humans. I'll be waking them soon," Dante said.

"Allow me to join you," Hope said, "Or maybe I can visit Klaus."

"It's too dangerous to visit him."

"But..."

"Hope, he has cared for you all that he possibly can. You are much stronger than even Klaus could handle," Dante explained.

"I wish to see my siblings at least," Hope said.

"You will, my Princess. I promise you," Dante said, "For now, I should go."

"It was good to see you," Hope smiled.

"You as well. We will meet again sooner than you think," Dante smiled, leaving her alone.

He passed by a Gemini Twin (Josie Saltzman) coming to check on Hope. His eyes shifted to white as he connected to her subconscious.

"You are assigned to protect Hope Mikaelson until further notice. Do you accept," Dante asked.

Josie tensed as she felt his power engulfing her. It wasn't painful, it was just uncomfortable. For some reason, she didn't feel threatened enough to attack him.

"Yes," Josie said.

"Good. Forget that we spoke."

Dante let go of her and walked away. Josie shivered as a chill ran up her spine. What was she doing again? That's right! She was going to check on Hope.
