WARNINGS: Slight Disassociation
Stephen waited at a coffee shop for his latte. He barely got home, so he was too lazy to make his own. While waiting he noticed Talia step next to him, causing him to stare. Talia did a double-take as she noticed him staring.
"Can I help you," Talia asked.
"Have we met before," Stephen asked, wondering why she looked so familiar.
"I doubt it," Talia chuckled.
"Sorry, you just look familiar," Stephen said, dropping his eyes.
"Yeah, so do you," Talia said, finally taking the time to truly look at him.
Stephen lifted his eyes back to her. She had the same curious expression he did.
"Next!"
Stephen stepped up to order. Talia shook off her sense of deja vu. She didn't have time to interrogate him, so she let it go.
Stephen kept stealing glances at her while waiting for his coffee to finish. What was it about her that made him question his memories? Maybe they were previous neighbors? Or perhaps he knew her from his surgeon days?
"Or maybe I'm losing my mind," Stephen mumbled to himself.
"Latte order for Stephen Strange!"
Stephen grabbed his drink and left the cafe. He'll figure it out later. Right now, he had better things to do than play Sherlock Holmes. While passing through the park his foot nearly got caught on the uneven ground.
"Watch your step, my Dove."
"What did you call me?"
Stephen tensed as he came back to his surroundings. He glanced around before heading back home. After closing the door behind him, Stephen began studying different spells. He came across one that Wong warned him about.
A smirk crossed his face as he studied it anyways. Stephen placed his coffee on the table in front of him before reading out loud.
"Subconsciousness is pushed to the surface and played out in front of you. Blah, blah, blah. Beware of certain traumas this spell may force you to relive," Stephen read, "Sounds safe enough."
Stephen placed the book down and tested the spell on himself. He sucked in his breath as he saw memories of his car crash play out. Along with that, came memories of his falling out with Christine and his sister's death.
"Okay, this is a lot to take in at once," Stephen mumbled, getting overwhelmed by the emotional rollercoaster the spell forced him through.
He considered stopping it until he noticed another memory beginning to unfold itself.
