Hope listened to Josie talk about the events in Mystic Falls.
"Are you alright, Hope? You're unusually quiet," Josie asked.
"I'm listening to you talk," Hope said, looking at the astral projection of her.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong," Hope said.
"Hope Andrea Mikaelson. Stop lying to me and tell me what's bothering you," Josie commanded.
Hope sighed deeply as her wall began falling for her.
"I decided to move to New York," Hope confessed.
There was a moment of silence that only increased her nervousness.
"I can pack a bag and meet you up there then," Josie smiled.
"Maybe you shouldn't. You should stay and live your life without me," Hope said.
"Hope, what the hell is going on up there," Josie asked, getting suspicious of her behavior.
"A lot of things have been happening lately, and honestly, I'm still trying to understand it all," Hope said.
"Are you breaking up with me," Josie asked softly.
"Baby, I'm scared of what would happen if you knew what I was," Hope said, her voice matching Josie's.
"What? The daughter of Klaus Mikaelson? The Mikaelson Tribrid? What could possibly push me away when I have been there through it all," Josie asked, swallowing the growing lump in her throat.
"I'm so much worse than a Mikaelson," Hope said, her voice cracking, "Everyone has looked at me differently. Josie, I won't be able to live with myself if you do too."
"Then tell me the truth, Hope," Josie snapped.
"I'm... I just need a break. Only until I can work through my issues," Hope said, dropping her gaze, "I'm sorry."
"I guess I should let you go then. I'll talk to you later or something," Josie said, disappearing from view.
Hope felt tears roll down the side of her face. They hit her hair and slipped onto her pillow. She stood up and went to the kitchen to get some water.
"Dante, we need to talk," Hope said, causing him to appear from the shadow of the room.
"You called for me," Dante greeted.
"Take me to see my father," Hope said.
"I already told you, Hope..."
"I'm in charge! I demand you to take me to him," Hope ordered.
Dante fell silent and straightened his back.
"As you wish," Dante said, grabbing her hand before pulling her into the shadows.
Dante led her back out, revealing they left the apartment. Hope looked around the furnished living room. It looked comfortable. The sunlight spilled through the curtains, bringing natural warmth to the house.
"Elijah, how many times have I told you to stop..."
Hope sucked in her breath as Klaus froze in front of her. He looked just as shocked as she was.
"Neeklaus, are you ready," Elijah asked, coming into the room, "Hope?"
"You really are alive," Hope whispered, keeping her eyes trained on Klaus.
"I'll give you two a moment," Elijah said, exiting the awkward conversation.
Dante followed him out of the room, so Hope and Klaus could talk.
