Klaus opened and closed his mouth, like a fish out of water. Finally, he found the words to speak.

"You can sit down if you'd like," Klaus offered, motioning towards the couch, "I have water or soda if you're thirsty."

Klaus went to the kitchen to avoid her. He opened the fridge and grabbed water and soda for her to choose from.

"I got both in case you..."

Klaus tensed as she followed him. Hope reached her hand towards his face and slapped him. Klaus blinked in confusion at the sheer boldness more than the hit.

"What was that for," Klaus asked.

She slapped him again. Klaus took a deep breath to calm himself.

"Hope..."

She did it again, but harder than the last time.

"Stop slapping me," Klaus snapped, grabbing her wrist.

"Okay. I'm sorry," Hope said.

"Thank you..."

She bitchslapped him with her other hand.

"That's it, I'm calling..."

"Who? Who are you gonna call? You're supposed to be dead, remember," Hope said, crossing her arms over her chest.

"I have ways of disappearing, Hope," Klaus explained.

"So you just decided to leave me? I'm your daughter," Hope snapped, stabbing a finger against his chest, "And YOU... You left me."

"I did it to protect you," Klaus said.

"Oh, really? Or were you scared of me!? After all, you knew what I was," Hope accused.

"What are you talking about," Klaus asked.

"You're not my really father, are you," Hope replied, "You knew that Lucifer was my real father the whole time."

Klaus scowled at her words. He placed the drinks on the counter harshly and stepped towards her.

"I have done everything in my power to make sure you were okay. And yeah, I wasn't the best father in the world," Klaus hissed, "But don't you ever think that I am not your father, Hope!"

He took a breath to calm down. Not only for her sake, but also for his. The last thing he wanted to do was scare her away.

"Whether you're related to Lucifer or not, I will always be your father," Klaus continued.
