Lucifer tapped his fingers against the table as Stephen read through some books. He kept stopping to check the time every so often.

"So are we not going to talk about our situation," Lucifer asked.

"What's there to talk about," Stephen asked, flipping the page of his book.

"Doctor, we kissed. You called me darling. I was vulnerable with you again. All of that is..."

"You were upset. I helped you feel better," Stephen corrected.

"So it meant nothing to you? That whole little moment we shared together was just there to calm me down," Lucifer asked.

"Why is this so important to you," Stephen asked.

"Because you held my hands and looked at me so lovingly. Your voice was so gentle towards me, compared to your usual harsh tone," Lucifer said.

"Harsh tone? I don't have a harsh tone," Stephen argued.

"You have one now," Lucifer said.

"I don't feel like arguing right now," Stephen said bitterly.

He stood up to leave the room. Lucifer watched him leave before following him like a lost puppy.

"I just want to know where we stand. I'm not trying to argue, my Dove," Lucifer reasoned.

"There is no we, Lucifer! You were grieving, and I wasn't heartless enough to push you away," Stephen said, his mood getting more agitated by the second.

"Why are you so angry with me?"

"Because you really think that I'd date a monster like you," Stephen blurted, turning to him sharply.

Lucifer's face twisted into deep hurt before dropping his gaze. Stephen soon realized what he said to him.

"Wait, I didn't mean..."

"I understand. I'm sorry for wasting your time, Stephen," Lucifer said, quickly leaving.

Stephen debated on chasing after him when his cell phone went off. Christine was telling him that she was busy. They'd have to reschedule their discussion for a different day.

Stephen took a deep breath and decided to chase after him. He called for Levi to begin his search for Lucifer.

Lucifer stood in front of Talia's grave. He sat down with a warm smile.

"Hey, Tal. I brought you some food. It's my favorite so far. The humans call it a churro," Lucifer smiled, placing a steaming churro on her grave.
