**CHRIS POV**

"Hey Chris, it's me...Frankie. Call me back."

She called me, I wasn't sure how she got my number, but she called me and wanted me to call her back. What was I supposed to do? I mean she sounded sober when she called me, so it wasn't like it was a drunk dial and she took the time to track down my number.

I sat listening to her voicemail over and over as I drank my 3rd glass of whiskey...I hadn't planned on drinking, but this voicemail came through 3 days ago and it was all I could think about. She called me, I was out with Scott, so I didn't get it until I got home.

I had let this voicemail fester in my brain for 3 days, I didn't know what to do. I knew I should call her back but the last time I saw her we fought and the time before that she hit me with bread. Did she hear somehow that Ma and Scott now knew, and she was calling to yell at me about telling people?

I knew she had been in Wilmington with Chad, pictures of them had surfaced, taken at a distance from people who were hoping they were back together, but they didn't act like they were. Once they were spotted together did I maybe go cyberstalking? Possibly, I had to know.

"Hey Chris, it's me...Frankie. Call me back."

I played it again. She didn't sound angry, or sad, or even happy. She was trying to keep her voice calm and quiet. I wasn't sure where she called from, but it was somewhere she couldn't cause a scene or even blab too much on the phone.

I needed to call her back. Now was not the time. I was drunk from the whiskey, and I wasn't thinking clearly. The radio had been on while I was drinking and listening to the voicemail over and over. I heard a song come on that made me think of Frankie...my Frankie.

**FRANKIE POV**

I was back in LA, had been for 3 days and I had to admit it was nice to sleep in my own bed.

I heard my cellphone start ringing and I groaned as I looked at the clock next to my bed. 3am...seriously.

"Hello?" I groggily answered not opening my eyes and laying back down on the bed.

🎵 Guess I rather hurt than feel nothing at all
It's a quarter after one
I'm all alone and I need you now
And I said I wouldn't call
But I'm a little drunk and I need you now
And I don't know how I can do without
I just need you now
I just need you now 🎵

I sat opened my eyes as someone sang to me.

"Chris?" I asked confused.

"Hey Frankie!" Chris muttered through. I could tell he was drunk, he was really drunk...

"Do you know what fucking time it is?!" I snapped.

"Time for a drink?" Chris asked and then laughed.

"No Chris, it's time to stop drinking. It's 6am there! Have you even been to bed?"

"Bed? Heck no! I have been listening to your damn voicemail all night. Like I have for the past 3 days." Chris snapped and I groaned pinching the bridge of my nose.

"Chris, you need to get some sleep. You need to stop drinking and sleep." I suggested.

"You called and I'm ready to talk." Chris whined.

"Chris, it's 3am here, I'm tired I just want sleep. You should sleep too." I said and Chris grumbled.

"I wanted to talk." Chris said.

"And we will...but not now, not the middle of the night for me." I said and he sighed.

"Fine..." Chris grumbled.

"I'll call you later, okay? I think we need to talk but I need you sober."

"Can we talk face to face?" Chris asked.

"I'm in LA..."

"I can be in LA...I'll fly out today." Chris said and I groaned.

"Let's just do this on the phone first." I said.

"Yeah, you can't hit me with bread over the phone." Chris laughed and I just smiled shaking my head.

"Okay time to get off the phone." I said.

🎵 Guess I rather hurt than feel nothing at all
It's a quarter after one
I'm all alone and I need you now
And I said I wouldn't call
But I'm a little drunk and I need you now
And I don't know how I can do without
I just need you now
I just need you now 🎵

Chris sang again and I groaned.

"Chris stop and go to sleep." I said.

"Sing to me Frankie, sing me something..." Chris mumbled. I could tell he was in bed. I didn't sing and just hummed. I soon heard him snoring, which he was prone to do when he was drunk. "Sweet dreams Evans." I whispered and hung up.

I then knew I needed to call someone...

"It's 6am! My alarm doesn't go off for 2 more hours." Scott growled into his phone, and I sighed.

"Hey Scott..." I trailed off.

"Frankie?! Is it really you?!" Scott asked in shock, and I smiled hearing his voice.

"Yeah, it's me. Listen I need you to do a favor for me. I would have called Lisa, but I didn't want to wake her."

"What's wrong?" Scott asked.

"I need you to go over to Chris's house and get rid of most of the alcohol. He just called me drunk and serenaded me." I said and Scott was silent.

"Singing to you? What did he sing?" Scott asked.

"Chorus of Need You Now."

"Wow...he went for it." Scott laughed that I joined in on and nodded.

"He did. But he was drunk, and I need you to go make sure he is okay." I said and Scott sighed.

"I'll go now and good thing you called me and not Ma, those two aren't talking right now."

"What?! Why?!" I asked and Scott sighed.

"Well, um...the night we were all at the bar when you left. I took Chris home and he let it spill out what happened when you both got to LA Frankie..." Scott trailed off and I hung my head.

"Scott..."

"No Frankie, you did nothing wrong, my brother was an ass. Well, I gave him a time limit to tell Ma and he didn't, so I told her. He confirmed it the other day to her, and she is so disappointed in him that she isn't talking to him." Scott explained, I pulled my knees to my chest and placed my forehead on my knees.

"Well, I will try and call her later right now I just need you to go check on your brother and I'm going back to bed." I said.

Scott chuckled, "Sounds good." Scott said. "And Frankie..." Scott continued.

"Yeah?"

"If you and Chris could work this all out, are you coming back to all of us again and being friends with everyone again?" Scott asked and I sighed.

"I never should have cut all of you off in the first place so yes, I will be back." I said.

"Good. Alright I'm leaving to go check on Chris. I'll text you tomorrow." Scott said.

"Sounds good." I said and we both hung up.

I laid back down on bed and just stared at the ceiling. Soon I found myself getting out of bed and heading to my closet to get out the showbox of photos and scattered them on the bed and I looked at them. I picked up a picture of Chris and I, just looking at it.

"I will never regret you, but the memory of you marks everything I do. I loved you once and needed protection. You'll always be in my heart Evans but it's time to move on..." I said looked at the picture.
