It was 3 weeks later, I was away from Chris again, my small break in LA was over and we were both back to work. He was back to promoting the movie and doing tons of interviews and I was back to a sold out show every night somewhere new.
Our schedules weren't meeting up well to even have phone call dates. I was up late and a lot of times he had to be in bed early for a tv appearance the next morning. We were sending a lot of texts and leaving voicemails. We knew this was a possibility so we weren't getting angry or mad at the other one, but I was getting a little upset not being able to even have an hour conversation with him anymore.
I was on stage, it was time for rehearsal since I decided to change the set list slightly. I just wanted to move songs around, so it flowed a little better for this second half of the tour.
We were running through Miss Independent when I just stopped singing and stopped the band. I looked at Hollie who was sitting in the first couple rows of the stadium seating. I then turned to the band and the small group of dancers I had.
"Sorry guys, I just need a small break. I'm not feeling much of this right now." I said and they all nodded. They could tell just didn't want to say anything.
"You okay?" Hollie asked coming up to the edge of the stage and handing me a bottle of water.
"No, I hate that this man consumes every thought in my mind. We can't even talk for more than 20 minutes a night and when we do get longer, one of us is usually pretty antsy or something from interviews or shows. We knew it would be hard, but this is annoying." I explained and Hollie half nodded. "Sorry, I'm just gonna go fiddle on the piano, it usually helps." I said seeing the piano off to the side and Hollie nodded.
Playing on the piano always calmed me down and I just needed to fiddle around for a while. I played the grand piano for a song or two on stage during the concert and we were just leaving it on the stage, out of the way so we could move it in whenever I needed it.
As I started to play, words I had written in my journal started coming to my head, it was something I wrote about Chris but never put his name in. I just started playing a simple melody that was coming to me as I played as I started singing.
🎵 Who are you
The one for whom I'd really gladly suffer
Who are you
The one I'll always love above another
You're my world
You're my hope
You're all my dreams and all my heart
Who are you
The one I give my life to
Who are you
Who loves as deep as I do
Who are you
Who takes me through the flood and through the fire
Who are you
Who leads me through the desert and the dry
You're in my thoughts
You know my mind
You are my fate
You are my light
Who are you
The one I give my life to
Who are you
Who loves as deep as I do
You're my savior, you're my center
My beginning and my end
You're the one I live for, you're my angel
Who are you
You're in my thoughts
You know my mind
You are my fate, you are my light
Who are you
The one I give my life to
Who are you
Who loves as deep as I do
Who are you
Who fell on me like fire
Who are you
Who takes me through desire
Who are you
You're the one I give my life to🎵
Once I finished, I noticed I had everyone sitting around the stage watching me and smiling.
"New song to add to the set?" My guitarist asked with a smile, and I shook my head.
"No, because that was just me fiddling around." I said.
"You miss Chris?" The drummer said and I laughed and nodded.
"That obvious?" I asked sarcastically and everyone started laughing. "Alright, let's get back to rehearsal, I feel a little better now. I took a deep breath as we all got set up again and the music to Miss Independent started playing again.
**CHRIS POV**
I had just finished an interview when my cellphone vibrated in my pocket, and I was a text from Hollie. I saw a video and a message from her with it.
Hollie: You may want to hear this...
I was worried by what Hollie was telling me. Scarlett looked over my shoulder since she was doing the interview with me.
"Is that Frankie?" Scarlett asked before I could hit play.
"Yeah, some video Hollie just sent saying I need to see this..." I trailed off. I looked up at Megan since we were just sitting in a hotel room and people were coming in to interview us.
"How much longer until the next interview?" I asked.
"10 minutes." Megan said and I instantly hit play. Scarlett and I sat and listened to Frankie play the piano and just sing an amazing song I never heard before.
Once it was over I knew I didn't have much time left and I knew she was rehearsing but I called Hollie on facetime.
"Hey, you watch the video?" Hollie asked. I saw her walking away so she could hear me over the music being played.
"I did, is she okay now?" I asked.
"She misses you, Chris. She can't concentrate because you haven't talked much. I know she hates using the whole "dependent on you" line but in a way, she is just needing to know you miss her like she misses you." Hollie said and I groaned and rubbed my forehead.
"Of course I do." I said and then motioned for Megan to come over.
"How many more interviews are on my schedule?" I asked. I knew they were coming to an end, and I would be able to go home or go join Frankie, whatever I wanted.
"About 2 more days. You have the rest of today and then Good Morning America tomorrow, then Jimmy Fallon that night." Megan said and I sighed.
"Hollie, where will she be in 2 nights?" I asked.
"Um..." Hollie was pulling up the schedule. "Actually, she has 2 shows in New York." Hollie smiled. I smiled back.
"Perfect, get me her hotel info and don't tell her I will be there when she ends the show. I want to surprise her." I said and Hollie smiled with a nod.
"I will send it all to Megan." Hollie said.
"Perfect, thanks Hollie. And Hollie, I know it's only a few days until I see her but don't let her get into her head too much, please?" I begged and Hollie sighed.
"I'll do what I can." Hollie said and we both hung up.
No one had a chance to say anything because the person for the next interview was walking in.
Here we go again...
