A/N: Ahh!!! so excited to start this off, but fyi this is (Y/N)'s number!!! She also for this story purpose has black thick hair and yellow eyes :3. Number: 41194 (Glory Bell Z8-249-631)

"Mama" she croaked out

"Why do you do this,"

"To our siblings,"

"To yourself?" She sobs

"What desire of yours does this satisfy?"

The answer was as clear as could be,

The desire to live,
to survive,
to be better than anyone else.

It was the act of selfishness and greediness.

The one who proves their strength will be the last one standing.

October 10, 2045.

I should have been a good girl that night, obeying mama as I always did.

That night I wanted to send my older brother, Hikaru, off.

Close in age and the closest sibling to me in the orphanage, I was curious to know about his foster family. I wanted to surprise him with one last goodbye, one last secret handshake, one last hug.

Yet when I peered down the dark arches of the gates, I saw no mama, no family, no brother. At least, no alive brother.

Instead I saw my brothers body, limp, pale, and pierced through the heart with a flower that still haunts my dreams.

But that sight was the least of my worries, it was what was holding his rag-doll body.

Demons, with eyes so dull, so unreal, so terrifying; and those eyes were staring at me directly. I was so frightened I didn't move, I didn't scream. I could only stare back with widened eyes.

And I finally figured where mama was, as she picked up my frozen body by the back of my collar, dragging me back to the house.

"There's no chance you're escaping." Mama said to me, as I stared soullessly into the floor, seated in a chair in her office. I had lost track of time, her voice lulling me to sleep, it's been so long I pondered if the sun would rise soon.

"(Y/n) your testing scores are incredible, perfect scores regularly. You were the best daughter, you never broke the simple rules I had asked everyone to follow." She praised me.

I looked up at her, her face was a mix of disappointment.. and pity? For someone who had dragged me back into the house with so much force I never knew she had, why did she look.. sad for me? Why did she speak so highly of me?

"And you broke them, I can't allow you to leave, nor spread the word of what you saw. There's only one last choice. Wait here." Mama spoke to me, her voice dimming in volume with every word. She had left her bedroom, I knew it was useless to leave. There was nowhere to go, besides hide under my covers and beg to God that I'd wake up from this dream.

I didn't move from the seat in her office, I only looked around, then looked down at my trembling hands. I didn't have the energy to cry, or scream, or even show any emotion on my face. I could only stare blankly and reply with a nod or shake of my head.

My mind wandered endlessly, 'was this the fate of all the siblings before Hikaru?' And there was an impending feeling of doom that filled the air. I knew that no matter what, no one would believe me, and I would die, angry, afraid, and alone.
